Appearance: high carbonation, 1 inch head, clear, golden in color

Smell: grass, grain, and light hops

Taste: grass, grain, bark, and a good dose of citrus hops

Mouthfeel: light body, moderate carbonation, sweetish start with a bitter middle and a dry bitter end

Overall: One of the biggest disappointments I have had in a while. I understand this is supposed to be a semi-bitter but balanced blonde ale. To me the flavors do not balance well and even clash in places. I had a hard time finishing this one. Some times the hops are a bit strong for the style and for the base malt of the beer. To me this has the feel and taste like an honest attempt at homebrew but nothing I would pay for again.

Pours pale yellow-gold with a fizzing one-finger head that settles very quickly into a film of small bubbles. Kinda odd.

Aroma is like a fruity version of a cheap adjunct beer. Some nice tree fruit notes come through but there is a sort of tangy rice-ish smell constantly in the background... possibly the yeast they used.

Taste is fortunately *not* like that off-scent. A little bit of the fruit comes through -- someone below mentioned strawberry and cherry, which is pretty close - which really helps the very thin body. Not much by way of malt going on by design. I think they redeemed themselves a bit with the flavor in my mind.

Feel is obviously crisp, thin and watery with the faintest bitterness that kicks in at the finish.

So goldens are not my thing - someone gave this beer as a lefover from a party. I'm always up for trying new beers but had very low expectations. The smell had me worried but the taste made up for it. Goldens are still not my thing but the light fruity flavor works well for my un-tuned sensibilities to the style. Given that, I'm not likely to ever have this again.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a muddled yellow color with a fizzy white bubbly almost foamy head. No lace. The aroma has some pleasant sweet fruits, ie. Peach, mango, strawberry and then a little bit of cherry. The flavor leads sweet with a crisp refreshing aspect to it. Crisp sweet fruity aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a nice sessionable smooth feel all around. Carbonation beats at my tongue appropriately. Overall, pretty good blonde ale. The sweet fruitiness to it helped to make it fairly pleasant. I could have again.

Smells like ketchup, tastes like absolutely nothing. One of the worst craft beers I've had.

Consumed 6/5/13

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear but lightly hazy - an attractive orange-dark gold color, maybe with some hints of light amber - small, white head, fades to a minimal cap and leaves some nice wisps of lacing

Smell: Lightly floral, lightly malty - just interesting enough that I wouldn't exactly describe the aroma as mellow - floral citrus with some nice orange and grapefruit - lightly grainy, with some caramelized malt sweetness - lightly toasted bread and some crackers - pretty clean smelling

Taste: Lightly malty and lightly hoppy with a nice floral, kind of spicy kick - lightly toasted grains, caramelized malts, freshly baked bread, light crackers - floral citrus, orange and grapefruit, with some spicy grass/herbal notes - medium amount of bitterness - nicely balanced overall - kind of a resiny, lightly sweet aftertaste, not exactly as clean as the smell suggested

Mouthfeel: Medium body, smooth, mostly crisp but some stickiness in the finish

Overall: Aged on retired barstools

I bought this can a few weeks ago and it ended up towards the back of my fridge. In the meantime, I convinced myself that this was Barstool Brown Ale. Like, a wood-aged brown ale. Anyway, this is a good Blonde. Not the best, but worth a try.
