Notes / Commercial Description:
The workday is done, and it's time to unwind...
notecard_LFULa Ferme Urbaine (LFU) is our unique take on a farmhouse ale. Influenced by the Belgian saison style, LFU features a complex blend of German hops, pilsener and pale malts, wheat, rye, oats, and spelt. The beer pours a hazy straw color and delivers a spicy, dry finish. So raise a glass and enjoy!

Taste is apple, hay, and light lemon. I like this as it is a bit sweeter for the style than I am used to. That said, I do think that it is only slightly above average. There are other beers I would go to if I wanted a saison.

Nothing special about this beer, solid but not very exciting or interesting.

Damn, this taste like something right out of Belgium. Reminds me of unfiltered Duvel where you have bright spice and pale malt flavors matched with mild yeasty clove notes and biting herbal hops. Very easy drinking for the strength. The body feels right and that's a point a lot of American brewers miss with Belgian style. Also, no one flavor element dominates. This is a well made beer.

Poured from a 64oz. growler bought at the brewery into a tulip glass from the brewery

Appearance: A very apple-juice colored beer. Golden-amber, with a very small head, and not much in the way of retention. Bubbled continuously throughout drinking, but left very little; almost no lacing on the glass.

Smell: The smell is quite nice, with some apply and bready aromas. Definitely has that distinct saison aroma to it. Very appetizing.

Taste: Lots of phenol and apple flavor, with only a tiny little bit of hop bitterness. Very bready and tastes like very light malts. Doesn't taste like a 7% beer. It took me a few sips to get into, but the overall flavor was quite nice.

Feel: Really crisp and smooth. Not sticky at all, and the bubbles are more like a soda than a beer.

Overall: A solid saison, albeit not an incredibly memorable one.

Boston Beer Summit. Sample pour. Pours a hazy, yellow color with a thick, whipped head. Aroma is of buttoned-up Saision yeast, some pale malt and a grassy hop scent. The flavor is also quite the same. Not very phenolic but that signature Saison character is present. The hops are soft but state their case. Pale bread and grain. Surprised by the ABV. Felt and tasted much lighter. Pretty good albeit unmemorable.
