Notes: Eliza5beth is a golden farmhouse ale aged on apricots to allow sourness and light fruit flavors to add complexity to the beer.

Poured a very nice hazy golden yellow color with a nice big foamy white head that was retained well. Lighter aroma than expected, fruity and bready. The taste was good, a but muted from what I expected, but good overall, it had a nice sweet and sour balance to it. The beer had a moderate feel, very drinkable with a nice dry finish. Overall, I enjoyed it.

500ml bottle, 2015 release, poured into a Prairie Artisan Ales fieldmice Teku glass.

The beer pours a nice golden copper color, hues of orange, hazy and with just a tinge of clarity and a fluffy white head, about 2 fingers high that has moderate retention but yields no lace. The aroma is pleasant, light lactic sourness, fleshy apricot fruit and earthy pit, mild funk, pale grain, lemon peel and just a touch of peppercorn. The flavors are nice, pale grain, yeasty fruit, peppercorn, mild apricot, lactic sourness, wildflower and some strong mustiness. The mouthfeel is good, coating, zippy and crisp, dry, assertive carbonation with a full finish.

Verdict: A nice Farmhouse ale from Prairie Artisan Ales, very enjoyable apricot presence in the nose, not quite as prominent on the tongue, but it straddles the line between a farmhouse and a wild ale really well, rather than being a bit of a stylistic mess. Kudos to Prairie for this.

After winning over each and every taste bud by stepping out of their farmhouse comfort zone with an Olde Ale here and an Imperial Stout there, Prairie gets back to their roots with this highly characterful Belgian Saison with full-on fruit and spice interplay.

Eliza5beth stands tall with a hazy yet bright goldenrod body and a creamy white head to float the glass. Quite yeasty in its appearance, the ale retains the session confidently and laces the glass with broken collars all the while.

A mix of musty citrus and plump tropical fruits gather in the nose for a fully fruity scent. Old, dried and fragrant woods follow suit with sandalwood, hay and a notion of lemony sassafras. Mixed with a peppery tinge, the nose is mildly wine-like.

To taste, its light bready taste offers up its starchy sweetness. When fused with dried oranges, lemons, apples and limes take on a sweet and tart flavor. Its musty character gives rise to light attic-like woods and damp hay. Earhty in its taste, wine-soaked wood gives the ale a funky-fresh flavor. A finish of white pepper and mild peat continue its earthen but fruity taste even in bitterness.

Medium-light in body, the beer has a light and pleasant powdery mouthfeel that makes it effortless to drink. Its creamy carbonation promotes its dry texture deeper and deeper into the session, and as the earthy aromas and flavors abound. In closure, the ale seems to evaporate off the mouth like cotton candy. Light warmth and playful spices dry the palate with ease.

Eliza5beth is a quintessential taste from Prairie. Without any gimmicks or distractions, this farmhouse ale does what Prairie does best!

Poured into a shaker pint at the Public at the Brickyard.

This beer reminds me of a better blue moon/wit beer with an orange slice but much more spicy and drier. The fruitiness overwhelms the traditional saison funk - 3.25

A - Cloudy pale orange with small head that dissapates to zero - 3.25
S – Fruit, citrus, orange - 3
T - Fruity with the tang of orange and lemon zest and a very very small bit of spiciness, some funk - 3.25
MF - Medium light body with a dry finish - 3.75

Pours a bright gold with a bit of haze. Voluminous white head which dissipates slowly to a thin line on top of the beer. Small amount of lacing.

Bright aroma. A bit citrusy but not overpowering. Some oak and chardonnay like notes. Just a hint of the apricot. Yeast aromas come through as the beer warms slightly.

Smooth flavor with just an edge of tartness. Lemon notes with some white grape. Oak, yeast(Belgian??) and something a bit funky/grassy. Apricot isn't noticeable at first, but starts to show through as the beer approaches room temperature.

Medium body with a fairly high level of carbonation. Crisp on the tongue with some lingering dryness.

Very nice farmhouse ale. Good crisp refreshing feel. Some fruitiness without overdoing it.

I had heard such good things about this beer, but found it pretty bland and uninteresting. Not bad or offensive, but watery and not much going on.

Super hazy straw yellow. Contrasting stark white creamy head. Great retention.

Funky and tart aroma. The apricot definitely pops. Lightly phenolic with banana and clove.

Banana and sweet tarts. Fruity and vinous. Funky.

Crisp and light mouthfeel. Carbonation is slightly high and prickly.

I loved it. A great saison with a fruity twist. I recommend giving it a try.

500 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Thankful to find this 500 mL bottle instead of having to open a 3L.

Appearance - Pale, yellow, and a little hazy. Nice white head. Thick white collar.

Smell - Fruity and acidic smelling. Stone fruit, but not what I'd peg as apricot. Lemony element, too. Pale malt. Some grassy notes.

Taste - Much grainier. More of an emphasis on herbal and grassy flavors. Light lactic tartness. Faint fruitiness, but nothing like the aroma.

Mouthfeel - Medium light. Well carbonated. Minimal tang.

Overall - After I finished writing the review, I decided I liked it a lot. Nitpicking the flavors didn't seem to help my impression of the beer.
