Vanilla Noir is Prairie Noir aged on organic, fair trade vanilla beans, and let’s just say it takes a lot of beans! The vanilla flavor compliments the whiskey barrel aging process and adds a delicious layer to the beer.

Bottled November 2017; drank 1/15/18 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a small dark tan head; decent lace.
Vanilla, milk chocolate, graham cracker & faint oak notes in the nose.
Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Vanilla & milk chocolate flavors up front; graham cracker & faint oak dryness on the finish. No booze heat.
A tasty, balanced vanilla treat. Not mind-blowing, but well above average. I'd have another...

Pitch black, oily appearance. Small, bubbly brown head that dissipates fairly quickly. Some lacing is left behind, but it disappears altogether after a while.
Whiskey dominates the aroma; strong, boozy, sweet, some dark chocolate, and oak.
Hits upfront with whiskey--booze, caramel, coconut, tannins. Big sweet vanilla note, like vanilla icing on cake. Thick dark chocolate, leading into fudge, and then a slightly spicy blackstrap molasses and licorice note near the finish. The oak tannins cut through much of the sweetness, preventing it from being too cloying. A slight sweet stickiness lingers.
Medium-plus mouthfeel, light carbonation--isn't as thick as I thought it would be, but the very strong boozy barrel-aged stouts are often thinner in feel than their non-barrel-aged counterparts. Nevertheless, it finishes out sticky.
Great BBA imperial stout. A bit on the expensive side for a single bottle, but delicious nevertheless.

L - Pours like a smooth black tar. No foam with a midnight black body.
S - Nice, strong notes of sweet vanilla bean. Mixed with a deep burnt molasses.
T - Amazing, despite the high ABV the alcohol taste is greatly shrouded by sweet, roasty, vanilla beans and dark chocolate.
F - Fantastic, super smooth and thick. One of the nicest beers to drink I've ever had.
O - A very high quality Imperial Stout, super smooth and rich.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11.5%. Pitch black colour, moderate to small tan head. Strong aroma of vanilla, roast malts and molasses, a hint of whiskey. Sweet and rich flavour, roast malts, molasses and vanilla galore, also notes of oak and whiskey.

If you like vanilla infused stout, this is among the smoothest and creamiest. Excellent body and rich flavor. High alcohol but didn't taste it. A little sweet.

Had a weird flavor that I didn’t like much.
Maybe it was boozier than I like, can’t really say.
Wouldn’t have it again.

11.14.2019. Most certainly does what it promises. Poors black, with brown foam. Smells soft, sweet vanilla. Smooth mouthfeel, but a tad alcoholic, thick enough. Taste is heavy vanilla, nice amount of bourbon, and smooth oatyness. Damn good, not their best

Bottled 11.13.19.
Vanilla, chocolate, & barrel on the nose. A bit more booze on the palate, with the vanilla coming in nicely to cut through those oaky undertones. Could use a bit more body, but this one’s drinking pretty good.
