Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellowish orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and about a finger of white head that quickly fades away.

Smell: A funky and tart aroma of zesty fruit and acid. Upfront scent of funk and tartness along with lactic acid. Fruit scent of lemon zest, green apple, apricot, white grape, and pear. Malt scent of wheat, grains, straw, and cracker with yeast. A very nice zesty aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a funky, tart, and zesty Weisse taste with notes of fruit and acid. Good funky and tart presence of lactic acid upfront. Zesty fruit notes of lemon, green apple, white grapes, pear, and apricot. Crisp malt notes of wheat, straw, grains, and cracker along with yeast. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Crisp, juicy, and puckering with a drying finish.

Overall: A really good take on a Weisse. Good mix of funk and zesty fruit notes.

12 oz bottle at home, about 3 years old. Cellared this one for a couple of years as it had limited carb. Smells like sweet apple juice. Flavor is better but still like a flat uninteresting cider. This is really bad.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Cigar City Brewing goblet.

A: Mildly hazy light gold to yellow with a thin to nonexistent head. A decent amount of visible carbonation overall, but it's low for the style.

S: Not a big aroma, nor a particularly appealing one. Light lactic tartness; cracker malts with a bigger-than-desired grainy character. Light lemony citric acid as well.

T: Light lactic tartness, cracker and less pilsner malts, and a big shot of graininess again. Mild lemon tartness. A very mild earthy funk near the swallow, which otherwise is a light drying acidic finish.

M: A very light body, light even for style. No alcohol to speak of. Carbonation sensation again is decent but on the low side for style.

O: This isn’t a terrible beer, but I think it’s the worst beer I’ve had from Prairie. Not tart enough, no flavor additives, and no depth of sour nor funk to make it interesting. Any one of those would help significantly. There's nothing here to carry the beer, and it ends up underwhelming, nearly bland, and certainly forgettable.

Bottled 7/29/16; drank 9/14/16 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy yellow/orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice, noisy bright white head; minimal lace.

Honeyed wheat & mildly tart lemon notes in the nose.

Thin mouthfeel.

Honeyed wheat flavors up front; mild lemon tartness & faint soda carbonation on the finish.

Pretty flavorless; drinkable but very forgettable.

A: Poured into a tulip to a light golden yellow that's a little hazed topped by a finger of white head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of pleasant creamy wheat with some lemony sourness. Standard berliner aroma
T: Taste is a nice lactic sourness up front with some lemon, nice creamy wheat in the middle with a slight mineral note. Swallow is more lemony sourness with some nice lingering creamy wheat.
M: This beer is fairly light in body but it is not watery. Carbonation is somewhat effervescent but it is not prickly. The acidity gives this beer a slightly drying finish.
O: Overall this is a really nice berliner. Very true to style with that nice pale wheat flavor along with a pleasant amount of tartness. This is definitely one to try if you like the style and can find it.

12 oz bottle, listed as 3.9%

I first get simple malts, then citrus, in the aroma.

It a has a powerful sour puckering mouth- feel, yet not over the limits for me.

The flavor is nothing to write home about, yet still good. I get wheat, some citrus, with an interesting finish; light, and in a sense, refreshing!

I have had 3 - 4 for these over the course of a year, and at first I didn't care that much for it: my first impression was that it was different, and overall not bad. It is now over a year since I purchased it, so perhaps the age on the beer itself is what improved it, I don't know. Perhaps it is because I have had a few more sours since then. I definitely like it now, especially for it's super-low ABV of 3.9%. This is a great flavorful experience at a much lover ABV then the 8 - 10% heavy hitting beers I am used to drinking.
