12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/1/2016. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, green apple, apricot, pear, white grape, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/white pepper, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, green apple, apricot, pear, white grape, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk/white pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity tart/sourness and tangy wheat on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, green apple, apricot, pear, white grape, hay, straw, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from tart/sourness as well. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately acidic/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.9%. Overall this is an excellent Berliner weisse! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the balanced acidity; and quite clean finishing. A very enjoyable offering.

Phenomenal sour. This is so tart and the nose is INCREDIBLE. Lots of pineapple and tropical fruits and drinks so smooth.

Bottle.

A: Slightly off lemon, some fruity notes, faint bready sourness, and fairly strong and lightly sharp lacto sourness.

A: Bright golden, totally clear, with a mostly uniform white head that quickly dissipates into the glass.

T: Light lemon upfront front, fairly fruity, faintly bready wheat, with a moderate and slightly sharp sourness that lasts through the finish.

M: Light bodied with moderately high carbonation.

O: Alright; the beer has great clarity and is refreshing, but has a slightly off lemon note and a slightly sharp lacto sourness that could be improved.

I'm not an expert on the style but it is a nice sour with a definite wheat beer taste. I'm a big fan of Prairie and this beer is perfect for drinking in the sun.

Chilled Bottle/Pour into glass: Simple, elegant, effervescent flow of golden wheat. A crisp clean taste with a nice head and great scent. I enjoy prairie very much and this has been one of my favorites. The sour wheat was such a fresh change from their famous stouts. Such a treat.

12oz bottle. 7/29/17 bottle date. Appearance: Light golden and mostly clear. Nice thick white head on the pour and decent lacing. Aroma: Sour Apple, lemon, acidic. A touch of grass and hay Taste: apple juice with a sharp tart lemon peel. Very light maltiness and no perceptible bitterness. Acidity strong but not sharp or unpleasant. Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a low to moderate carbonation. Finish: Slight retronasal funkiness with a bready sourdough and lemon twist. Surprisingly complex after the swallow. Overall: A nice light refreshing Berliner, very fruity and a well balanced strong acidity. Really like how a different bready element shows up on the finish. I’d like a bit more carbonation here to liven the beer, but a really good overall berliner

12 oz bottle, listed as 3.9%

I first get simple malts, then citrus, in the aroma.

It a has a powerful sour puckering mouth- feel, yet not over the limits for me.

The flavor is nothing to write home about, yet still good. I get wheat, some citrus, with an interesting finish; light, and in a sense, refreshing!

I have had 3 - 4 for these over the course of a year, and at first I didn't care that much for it: my first impression was that it was different, and overall not bad. It is now over a year since I purchased it, so perhaps the age on the beer itself is what improved it, I don't know. Perhaps it is because I have had a few more sours since then. I definitely like it now, especially for it's super-low ABV of 3.9%. This is a great flavorful experience at a much lover ABV then the 8 - 10% heavy hitting beers I am used to drinking.

I buy a lot from Prairie Artisan Ales, and they have some great stuff, and this sour wheat ale is great too.

Look: semi-clear light golden with a thin white head.

Aroma: wheat, citrus, perhaps green apples.

Taste: It's wheat, lemon, green apple, meringue, its tart/sour and tastes very good.

Feel: light to medium body, and very easy drinking.
