Draft @ Mikkeller Bar SF on 1/19/20. Pours black with minimal tan head. Aroma is dominated by coffee and roasted malt with some chocolate. Mouthfeel is on the thin side for a stout. Flavor is coffee and hop bitterness, roasted malt and dry alcohol finish. Not a bad coffee/chocolate stout, but not nearly best in style.

It's like Bomb without the heat.

Coffee smell is there but comes through as a cheap coffee taste.

Aftertaste is a bitter stale taste that lingers. (Could that be the spaghetti?)

All that said its a mediocre coffee stout

Very dark brownish-black brew, quite clear, topped with a small dark tan head. Poor retention, quickly disappearing to a bubbly rim around the edge.

Huge coffee stout aroma; coffee really dominates, riding atop roasted barley, chocolate, and a bit of sweetness.

Flavor follows, in stronger proportions. Tons of coffee floats atop a sweet, chocolatey malt base with some overripe fruit.

Slightly thin mouthfeel for the style, bit of back-end burn. Slick and oily, lovely balance, wet finish.

This is a coffee stout that could easily be up there with the stalwarts of the style, FBS and Peche Mortel. Definitely hits everything I want.

Pours a deep dark chocolate brown with a thin beige head that's gone pretty quickly.More of a deep Italian roast coffee in the nose, somewhat woody and earthy with a touch of chocolate sweetness.Flavors are much of the same heavy coffee roast with earthy tones, mild bitter chocolate with light sweetness in the finish. If you like artisinal roast coffee this is for you.

11.2oz bottle, no date. Pours black with a medium-sized khaki head. Amazing smell of coffee and cocoa. The taste follows exactly with some bitterness and earthy hops but is pretty weak. Medium body and medium carbonation for the style. Reminds of a boring version of BOMB. Overall, the smell was amazing but the taste was lacking.

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a medium height tan head that gives way to a thin, sticky lacing. Smells like cold brewed coffee, roasted malts, cherries, subtle vanilla bean and milk chocolate. The taste follows the same notes, roasty bitter, chocolate sweet and a bit hoppy. Full body with low carbonation and a velvet smooth roasty bitter-sweet finish.

12 oz bottle (thanks B&B).

Pours essentially black with a decent head and some lacing.

Te aroma has a strong note of used coffee grinds that overpowers everything else.

The flavor is better but stil unbalanced. The finish, howver is quite nice with dark malts mixing with expresso.
