Pours hazy gold with loads of sediment, racing bubbles and a dissipating foam head. Smells like pale bready malt, fresh apricots, apple, orchard fruit, stone fruit, mild funk, with some floral earthy hops. Tastes like fresh sour apricots, some candied malt sweetness, tart apple, orchard fruit, stone fruit, lemon, mild funk, with floral earthy piney hops. Feels lighter-medium bodied, creamy with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a nice sour ale aged on apricots.

Reviewed from long-standing notes. Purchased locally on 5/9/17. Consumed about 8 months later. 16.9 oz. bottle poured into a J. Wakefield OG teku glass.

A: Light gold, and while this is mildly hazy its pretty surprisingly clear for the style. Forms a half-finger of white head that has good retention. A good amount of visible carbonation.

S: Lactic tart and Brettanomyces basement and barnyard funk. Citric acid and lemon juice. Dry and tart stone fruit. Cracker malts. I don’t know if this is wood aged, but seems like maybe some tannins – or it could just be the dry flavors.

T: Lactic tart, citric acid with lemony dryness. Some dry basement funk and old cheese but this isn’t overly funky. Crisp cracker malts with maybe a touch of pilsner character. Mild dry stone fruit – definitely more apricot than peach to me – but not as big as the nose. The stone fruit character does increase a bit as it warms, but never becomes a dominant flavor. It finishes pretty dry and almost a bit like white wine.

M: A light crisp mouthfeel, mild alcohol presence, and good carbonation sensation.

O: Well – it’s not bad, but it’s not particularly funky nor apricot-forward as I would have hoped given the name. But it’s got nice sour flavors and clean malt bill. But this tastes like more of a fairly well-made base sour rather than a funked and fruited one. A mark down for lack of label-promised flavors.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a pale golden yellow topped by a finger of dense white head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of apricots on the nose with a hint of funk and tartness
T: Taste is light funk, slight cracker malt, and a nice undertone of apricot flavors. A little seltzer like at times as well. Swallow is more apricots, slight sourness, and some more residual apricot flavors
M: This beer is fairly light in body while carbonation is slightly prickly and effervescent. The slight acidity helps to give this beer a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a really nice beer with some good flavor and some decent complexity. It could use a little more funk but the fruit notes are pretty good and genuine. Not the best apricot sour that I've had but this one is still very good.

Really nicely balanced between funk tartness and fruit with full bodied feel.

Golden colored with a faint haziness and plenty of carbonation bubbles within. There's a faint trace of off white bubbles just barely present on top. The aroma is apricot and faint lemon. I'm tasting apricot and lemon. The mouth is heavily carbonated, crisp, and refreshing.

Not bad, but far from great. I was expecting a lot more from Prairie. This beer has got enough apricot flavor going on, but not enough funk or sourness. Drinkable and pleasant enough, but unremarkable.

Nice easy drinking sour apricot ale. Not a whole lot of depth, medium drying finish, not too sour to gulp down
