Pours an effervescent mahogany with 2 fingers of mocha colored head. Perfect lacing & head retention

S: Plenty of Tequila there, a little vanilla and caramel

T: Tequila up front, dark chocolate, vanilla & raw oak, a little booze . Dryness, nice tequila twang, oakyness, vanilla & more caramel. Finishes dry, twangy, with a little caramel & peppery spice

MF: Fairly thick, noticeable, but not too noticeable carbonation, warming

Was thrilled to get to try this, but I couldn't afford to buy this if it was more common. Over 70 cents an ounce, too rich for my blood. Tis a pity, they nailed this one, very drinkable indeed & complex at the same time. This one exceeded my expectations & then some

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass

A- pours an opaque black with a one-finger creamy dark tan head that retains for a while, before settling into a film, leaving a touch of lacing behind

S- initial aroma smells just like a candy apple; red skin apple with melted caramel. The illusion of apple probably stems from the agave notes from the barrel. Beyond the fruity notes, picking up aromas of tobacco, chocolate, oak & salty lime, quite interesting

T- tequila barrel is strong up front with big flavors of agave with hints of lime. Luckily, the base beers is strong enough to match up with the huge barrel notes, providing plenty of dark chocolate, caramel, charred malt, leather & a hint of coffee. More tequila barrel on the linger

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a bit of a thin finish, ABV hidden well

O- the tequila barrel is strong, but not overbearing. One of the lesser used spirit barrels has some nice characteristics when matched up to a strong base stout

Poured right down the middle into a chill-hazed, boot black body with about a finger of dark tan head.

Boozy tequila off the ass of a drunken stripper floats welcoming to the nose as if that's all you've got left in this world and you are grateful for any attention at all.

Tastes of oak, tequila, vanilla, spicy fruit, saccharine, cacao beans and milk chocolate. Starts somewhat boozy but evens out very quickly.

She's on the thicker side of medium-bodied and leaves a little sticky on the lips for the drive home.

Not a big fan of tequila but a big fan of this beer. It just works.

I'm sure this is a well made beer but I'm not a huge tequila fan, and the tequila overwhelms the beer. If you love tequila you'll love this beer.

Pitch black pour with an espresso coloured head with decent retention. Aroma of dark cherries, almonds, molasses and some strong liquor (safe to assume it's the tequila). Tastes bitter, a bit sour and hot, with notes of dark cherries, cocoa and prunes. Medium body (I was expecting something thicker) and a boozy, spicy mouthfeel with a warm aftertaste. Not the best stout from Priairie Ales, but a good one to try.

Black as night with no penetration to light. A fingernail of khaki brown rests on top. I smell tequila and sweet dark malt. The taste is as advertised in the nose. Sweet dark malt and tequila. There's a nice interplay between. The sweet tequila and malt and bitter barley. The mouth is thick and sticky.

12 ounce bottle poured into an oversized snifter.

The cocoa and dark khaki-colored head on this is something to admire. Thick, frothy and creamy-looking. Lace forms a wall on the glass's sides as the head drags downward to the pitch-black liquid. Looks like dessert to me. 5

I can get a big boozy smell even from a distance but follow me as I go in for a closer smell. Oh yea, that's booze. Clearly showing some sort of barrel property here and the slight touch of agave stands out to suggest tequila. Some light chocolate and caramel can be found underneath and it's got a sweet smell to it. 4

Man, that's pretty nice. I was nervous it would be a boozy mess, but there are plenty of flavors to enjoy here. Tequila flavors set things off but segue into chocolate and malt sweetness and then dark chocolate cordial flavor lingers on my tongue. Okay, I taste a bit of booze, but nothing offensive. The tequila interplays with the chocolate and caramel dessert-like quality of the beer in an interesting way---it provides some spice and cuts through the thicker body and creaminess to finish lighter and dryer. The result is that this sips smoothly and easily and it's damn good.

T: big sharp alcohol taste the taste is very hidden getting a little pepper heat some chocolate some of the roast but lots of booziness

M: nice feel to it silky but not chewy lot of slickness from the alcohol

O: Meh, I would never guessed this was in tequila barrels just a lot of astringent alcohol taste hidden behind what might be a great bee but its very masked
