12 Fl Oz bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours black and is topped with little head.
I get anise and dark chocolate. Hints of coffee
The taste is similar to the aroma. I get anise and chocolate. Some roasted malt in the finish.
Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
Vanilla is still my favorite of the deconstructed beers.

Poured from a bottle - dark as night with thin khaki head leaving a minimal ring of bubbles and almost no lacing. Nose is roasty malt and mild cocoa sweetness. Taste follows more or less ,very mild. Finish is smooth and almost creamy with a slight woodiness.

Bottle from late 2018: Pours pitch black color with a 1-2 finger thick head that made crackling sounds as it faded on the fast side but then leveled to a slow pace after the head dissipated to around a quarter inch thick. It leaves minimal spotty lacing after each sip, no real legs.
Smells like Hershey’s chocolate syrup, cocoa powder, toffee, molasses, coffee grinds, dark fruit, metallic notes and more chocolate. Some malty aromas throughout, but this was mostly dominated by the chocolate aspects. A lot sweeter smelling than the regular BOMB!
Taste is where it jumps the shark as to me it was cloyingly sweet. The cocoa and chocolate are excellent complimentary flavors, but just too strong in this brew which misses the chili peppers and coffee in the blend. The second half had Hershey’s chocolate syrup, cocoa powder, toffee, molasses, smoked malts, brown sugar, dark fruit, bakers chocolate, metallic notes and then more chocolate. Without the peppery spices and heat as well as the coffee bitterness, this comes off and way too chocolate-y. I wish that the beer had some more malty and/or bakers chocolate components to help bring some balance, but it didn’t so it’ll go down in my book as a lesser version of the original version of BOMB!

Salty sweet and heavy chocolate nose on this one! Taste follows with a prominent chocolate finish. There is some hint of dark chocolate bitterness on the swallow. It is a little thin for imperial stout, but good!

12oz bottle. Stamped on bottling date is '072 18'.
Black colored body, with a slight mahogany colored back lit edge. Tiny bubble tan head stays around. Some scattered strings of lacing.
Aroma of roasted malt, creamy chocolate, slight coffee and vanilla.
Taste of big chocolate fudge, smooth roasted malt, dark cherry fruit, and touches of creamed coffee and vanilla.
Medium mouth feel, with a very smooth texture. The higher ABV% shows up as a mild burn. Good carbonation.
Less sweet than the coffee and chili versions, and includes more dark fruit flavor. The chocolate flavor is not bitter however.

L: Dark espresso brown to black. With a one finger dark tan head fading more slowly to a cap with little lacing.
S: Aroma of roasted malt and cocoa, but more muted than the other variants.
T: The cocoa is there but more as hot chocolate than the bitter backbone of cocoa nibs. There is a sweet burnt sugar quality as well. Otherwise similar to the standard BOMB!
F: Much thinner than the traditional BOMB!, that said I've never aged those this long. Carbonation is okay.
O: An okay beer, but I'd stick to BOMB! or the BA version.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This mighty fine brew pours a
rich obsidian with a decent head of tan foam that settles to a thin
ring, thin light layer, and shows decent light lacing. Nose of mellow
cocoa nibs, subtle cream brulee, mild coffee, light char and roast, with
very subtle booze. Flavors again hit the WOW factor with sweet and
mellow cocoa nibs with light touches of vanilla and mild coffee with
again some dark fruit notes showing touches of blackberry and blueberry
amongst light touches of char and roast. Very nice mouth feel; full body, smooth
slick, coating, rich, lightly warming, low carbonation, and a rich full cocoa
and light vanilla finish.
Another great one from a great brewery
Cheers
