12oz can. "TWI$T" written on the bottom with a code
I got this heavily marked-down, it was only $1 for the can. These are usually $4-5 for a single and some of the 4-packs of the brewery go for $20. I think it must have lost something along the journey to a dollar because I'm not getting what the other reviewers seem to be getting. One note, very sour, lemon juice clearly added, the faint remnants of citra hop are nice, I guess...
I can only imagine how good this is when fresh

And now, for something CANpletely usual, we take you back to The CANQuest (tm), joined in progress! I have really been whaling away (in the hit, thrash or beat soundly meaning of the word, NOT the highly-coveted beer sense) at the Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody. This CAN will provide a segue into a short horizontal which will lead once more back into the breach, seeing a return to the pesky Bottles! This one & the next were both purchased at The Beer & Beverage Shoppe on Roseville Road.
From the CAN: "Dry-Hopped Farmhouse Ale".
If there is any one thing that makes this self-isolation/quarantine bearable, it is the ocCANsional Crack!ing open the vent of a CAN. The silence here CAN be deafening at times, especially when the bulk of my beer drinking has been from Bottles. This one seemed nice & loud so I celebrated with a fairly heavy-handed C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed up very quickly to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with excellent retention, forcing me to back down & off & then to wait for it to subside. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). I took the time, while waiting for the head to fall, to lean in for a sniff. Nose was quite barnyard funky with a lemony-grapefruit … twist! Aha. And I do mean fuhn-key! Phew.
Which makes me wonder - with the sudden closure of the schools, what happens to the CANtents of the lockers? Some of them already had odors emanating from them on H, 12 March 2020 when we left that afternoon!
Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but definitely big for a Saison. The taste was more citrusy-tart than funky & from my POV, that was a good thing. The nose was just shockingly pungent, perhaps because I am out of practice with the style. I really liked its refreshingly dry tart tanginess, making it eminently drinkable. If the idea behind the style is to be a warm-weather, Summertime treat, this one was certainly filling the bill. Finish remained dry & highly refreshing. YMMV.

12oz can stamped TWI$T B#05781 poured into a snifter at fridge temp 5.8% ABV. The beer pours NE hazy orange yellow in color with nearly white head. The aroma is juice oranges or citrus peel. The taste is fairly tart with some saison funk and more of the citrus (grapefruit peel, lemon) before a barely bitter finish. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with above average carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good.

Look: It pours yellow and it is a bit cloudy. It has a beautiful, big white head with tightly packed beads. Head retention is excellent.
Smell: It has quite a strong aroma. It has strong lemon and citrus elements. There is some spice to it in support.
Taste: It has strong lemon and citrus with a moderate amount of grapefruit. There are moderate levels of lime and spice supporting the overall presentation. There are low levels of grainy sweetness in the background.
Feel: It has a moderate body.
Overall, the aroma is stellar and the flavors are very good. It is a very lively beer.

Pours cloudy yellow gold color with a 2 finger thick foamy white head that was packed with huge bubbles, dissipating on the quick side and leaving minimal spotty lacing. Smells like a bowl full of citrus fruit with lemon, orange peel, tangerine, pineapple, lime, green apple, tropical fruit and light biscuit in the nose. The dry hopping overtook any of the funky aspects and resembles an IPA more than a Belgian style beer. It may not be traditional, but it smells really good. Flavor follows suit and is very juicy and tropical, with tons of citrus hop flavors like lemon, orange peel, tangerine, pineapple, clementine, lime, green apple, tropical fruit, fresh cut grass, mild peppery spices and biscuit in the background. The taste is a bit more earthy and saison-like with hints of Belgian yeast or accents. Overall this was very easy to drink, refreshing and quite enjoyable.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 12 oz. can into a Cycle goblet.
A: Hazy light straw to gold with a two-finger fluffy white head with good retention. Quite a bit of visible carbonation.
S: Lactic tart, but not too much, and citrus zest. Lesser notes of tropical fruits on top of the cracker malt body. Mildly musty and funky - I think just a bit of Brettanomyces here. Light lemony citric acid as well. Nicely composed, though not a huge nose.
T: Lactic tart and citric acid up front, with lemony and tangerine zest. Light cracker malts again. Tropical fruit, light pineapple acid, and just a hint of mustiness here. Moderate citrus hop bitterness with more citric acid dry tartness in the hang.
M: A light body, with good carbonation and minimal alcohol presence.
O: Really quite good, and an amazing option to have around in cans. A nice level of tartness but not overly sour; drinkable, clean, and yet retains a degree of complexity. This likely won’t be the best beer you have this year (or maybe even tonight), but this would be a solid golf course beer for sure. Nicely done.

Aroma is a perfect delight of fruity hops and grass and touch of barnyard. Taste again is a perfectly crafted saison, with all of those aroma elements bouncing off each other in perfect symetry, a touch of tartness and nothing extreme but everything subtle and working together in unison in this saison. Feel is full and a super clean finish with nothing cloying or bitter etc. I put this saison up there high with the best of the best. World class craftmenship.
