Bottled 03.19.2020, it pours pitch black color with a foamy 1-2 finger thick tan/brown colored head that was full of tiny bubbles, fading in average time and leaving minimal spotty lacing that slides down the glass and back into the beer. Smells like dessert in a glass with dark chocolate, brownie batter, fudge, vanilla, espresso beans, bourbon, cocoa powder, brown sugar and chocolate malt notes. It's complex and roasty with char and lots of chocolate, which helps hide the ABV.

Taste is rich with lots of chocolate like cocoa powder, chocolate cake, burnt coffee grinds, charred malts, vanilla, bakers chocolate, toffee, nutty aspects, charred wood, bourbon or dark rum, dark fruits, heavy cream, brownies, chocolate icing and oaky notes. Very minor booze comes through, but the sweetness from all the chocolate components balances it out and makes for a nice slow sipper. The Oreos get lost in the mix, but it's still another fine stout by Prairie.

Prairie Artisan Stuf't BBA Imperial Stout, 14% ABV. Pours black with a ring of brown bubbles that left no lacing. Nose is Oreo chocolate and vanilla, slight bourbon. Taste is Oreo, mostly chocolate, slight bourbon, moderately sweet, slightly bitter, some bourbon burn. Excellent mouthfeel though under-carbonated like many Prairie stouts, overall outstanding. This beer originally came out in the Prairie Dawgs club to rave reviews, but they reportedly dumbed it down for this general release, with complaints of fake vanilla (vanillin) taste - which should be expected given that it's made with Oreos which use vanillin. I bet the original Stuf't had vanillin, and something else changed, like less Oreos. I still like it, but would have liked to have tried the original.

Good head production and retention for a high ABV, barrel aged stout. Dark brown foam tops a deeply black body.

Strong bourbon on the nose, along with red grapes, toast, caramel, char, coffee, nuts, chocolate, and vanilla.

Deeply roasty on the palate as well, with bitter chocolate, coffee tones, char, and red grape. The bourbon comes around the middle third, building in boozy heat through the finish and lingering in the chest and throat. Slightly sour mash notes. Less sweet than I expected.

Full bodied and smooth. Lingering heat.

Light carbonation with an above average body. Has a creamy thick feel which adds up to an overall excellent body.
Aroma is alcohol, bourbon, scotch, roasted malt, coffee. Theres some vanilla and oreo way in the background and didnt pick it up that easily.
Taste is definitely alcohol upfront followed by bourbon and some wood and vanilla. Any bit of cookie is again way in the background.
Overall the bourbon really dominates and washes out the other flavors and the alcohol is not well hidden at all. Its not my favorite from prairre but still manages to be far better than average.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/11/2020. Pours dense opaque dark brown/black color with a small fairly dense and fluffy tan head with solid retention, that reduces to a minimal spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing and floaties; with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toffee, fudge, cookies, brownie batter, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of bourbon, oak, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, vanilla, cocoa nibs, Oreo, light-moderate bourbon barrel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toffee, fudge, cookies, brownie batter, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of bourbon, oak, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, roast, charred bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, toffee, fudge, cookies, brownie batter, nuts, dark/brown bread, bourbon, oak, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, vanilla, cocoa nibs, Oreo, light-moderate bourbon barrel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a fantastic roast/hop bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 14.8%, with minimal booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic pastry stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, vanilla, cocoa nibs, Oreo, light-moderate bourbon barrel, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish; fantastic soft/silky feel for the ABV. Fantastic balance of super rich malts, vanilla, Oreo, and cocoa nib flavors; with light earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected of the brewery. Not a ton of barrel, but solid. Feels like a middle of the road Dawgs beer, with less barrel character.

A - Pours pitch black with a thin creamy tan head.

S -Aroma dark chocolate, roasted malts, Oreos and bourbon.

T -The taste is dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, roasted malts, crushed Oreos and a good bourbon kick in the finish.

M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft dry finish.

O - A really solid dessert stout.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Viscous, opaque jet-black pour. A dark mocha colored head rises up and fizzles away quickly and more loudly than any other beer I’ve had.

S: Smooth bourbon-barrel character on top of chocolate/cacao nibs and vanilla beans, marshmallow...

T: Even better than the nose, prototypical Prairie dessert-stout character; lots of straight milk chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, bourbon, brownie, oak, espresso...this is good. Not cloying though, and I was worried about that after reading some reviews.

MF: Oily, slick, full, viscous, hint of alcohol heat.

O: Very good; not quite pulling out an ‘Oreo’-cookie component, but the dessert notes are obvious. Well done.

This was a very tasty imperial stout from my favorite Oklahoma brewery. 3/10/20 date printed on bottle. Pours a thick sludgy black color with some tan head and just a little scant spotty lingering lacing. Smells of dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, caramel, malt, stone fruit, brown sugar, a little bourbon and oak. Taste follows the nose, great balance and depth, very tasty and the high ABV wasn't terribly overpowering. Didn't have to sip throughout. Paired well with both savory dinner and sweeter dessert. Smooth, sticky, rich chewy mouthfeel, good carbonation. A real pleasure to drink.

Bottled 3/19/20; drank 6/6/20 @ the Yarchives.

Black appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small tan head; nice lace.

Bourbon heat, burnt oak, mild Oreo & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.

Creamy, thick mouthfeel.

Bourbon heat, burnt oak, mild Oreo & faint fresh earth flavors.

It's as if they overcompensated for the Oreo aspect by making this WAY too bourbon & oak forward. Certainly not too sweet, but still unpleasant.

Batch 3. There is literally no oreo, barrel, vanilla, or cocoa character to this beer, which is shocking because Prairie normally knocks those adjuncts out of the park. The beer itself just seems like a base stout. It appears that the ratings on this beer have gone from amazing for batch one to lackluster by batch three. This was a huge disappointment.

I love prairie but this is an abomination. How many gallons of artificial vanilla extract did they dump into each barrel? This is one of the most chemical tasting beers I've ever tasted.

A- Pitch black brew from the stubby 12oz bottle into an 8oz tasting glass. The head fizzes out quickly after rising to a finger high. Lacing is rare with small spots stuck to the glass.

S- For the style and ABV it is a bit laid back from what you might expect. Roast barley, toasted nuttiness, caramel, vanilla, Oreos and cocoa powder. A hint of dark fruits. The barrel is somewhat subtle here with Bourbon hints as it warms up.

T- The oreo effect is a bit stronger here and while it isn't unmistakable you can definitely taste the cookie and cream from the classic sandwich treat. The cocoa, vanilla, dark fruits and rich sweets are the driving force of the flavor while hints of Oreos, nuts, booze, raisin, Bourbon and oak. The Bourbon grows very strong as you let this brew warm.

MF- Medium bodied and not as thick as expected. Carbonation towards the lower to medium side. Ends pretty warm and with a charred bitterness.

Appreciate the Oreo addition and it truly does work with the malts, vanilla and barrel. Body feels a bit thin and the aroma is subdued.

Stuf't (Batch 3), bottled 3/11/20. Boozy barrel nose, initial boozy barrel taste. Then the blend washes in. Dark coffee, thick chocolate, Oreoish. "Cookie!" All in all, flavorful boozy goodness. Yay for boozy!
