8100th review! 12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 1/31/2019. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, roasted nuts, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A touch too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, brownies, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, roasted nuts, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, frosting, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, roasted nuts, light coffee/molasses/dark fruit, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, brownies, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a solid hop/roast bitter/sweet balance, and no cloying sweetness on the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and slightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal lingering warmth of 11% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic imperial pastry stout! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, brownies, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; dangerously smooth and easy to drink for the bit ABV, with the minimally bitter/roasted/drying finish. Amazingly soft feel. Amazing balance of super rich malts, and brownie flavorings; with just enough earthy hops to balance sweetness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing dessert style stout example. Tastes exactly like brownies as a beer.

Pours black with a finger of caramel foam. Head retention is okay. Aroma is roasty, toasty, nutty, earthy malts with hearty brownie batter and caramel. It smells thick and full with a notable dessert quality. Flavor profile is roasty, toasty, nutty, earthy malts with a thick brownie batter mix over the top. It's slightly sweet, balancing out the initial bitter malts. Mouth feel is thick and full with a very modest creaminess. Overall, dense beer with some dessert qualities that balance and mesh well with the beer overall.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz bottle.

The beer is black with a one inch tan head that recedes quickly.
Big time chocolate aroma with a little vanilla.
It tastes like a brownie steeped in alcohol. Sweet chocolate first, then a little more bittersweet.
Not as heavy as I expected. The sweetness makes me glad I'm only drinking one bottle.

Served in a red wine glass from the bottle.

Appearance: Thick black to brown body with a dark tan head rising roughly almost one fingers length dropping a touch before my first sip.

Smell: light chocolate coffee aroma which smells good but lack potency.

Taste: Sweet chocolate with a touch of coffee bean and a light caramel note to go with it.

Mouth: Sticky body with medium carbonation and full body. Sweet finish, little overwhelming.

Overall: Good brew, but there's much room for improvement. A touch borderline milk sweet Stout, definitely a grab though. Don't knock it. Salud!

Nearly black, slowly forms a fine, milk chocolate head with a minute or 2 retention.
Focused aroma of chocolate ice cream, very pure chocolate, not bitter; vanilla.
Loads of cocoa on the palate, fresh and pure and rich, and only a touch of bitterness; the chocolate cake taste builds to the finish and lingers; a creaminess persists, like a milkshake; whispers of alcohol heat; velvety smooth feel, low carbonation, full body; fair amount of residual sugar is at risk of outweighing the chocolate.

Awesome fudge-y flavour that lives up to its name, though wouldn't mind more carbonation, and heat, to balance sweetness.

12oz bottle into a goblet. This was bottled in March 2019. so around 5 months old.

Thick black body. The initial decent tan head shrinks to a thick ring and covering. initially leaving some nice lacing.

Aromas of booze, dried fruit, and chocolate liquer come though.

Upon tasting, there is chocolate, molasses, and a strong alcohol warmth. As it warms, it becomes more pleasant and rolls around the tongue quite nicely. There is however a faint bitterness from the roasted malt with spoils it a little for this palate, though others may appreciate it cutting the sweet.

Mouth closing in on full, finish a chocolate burn with that light bitterness.

Overall, an enjoyable chocolate imperial stout. A few more months of aging might take the edge off the roasted malt taste away, but that's a light knock on an enjoyable stout.
