12oz stubby bottle. Date stamp on bottle neck is squished so that the full date is unreadable.
Black colored body, with red mahogany back lit edge. One finger of fizzy brown head which quickly disappears, leaving a few rising bubble fed islands and a thin ring. No lacing.
Aroma is intense, with rum barrel, chocolate, and marshmallow.
Taste is heavy with the rum barrel. Also has flavors of dark roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, marshmallow, and dark fruit. The coconut only comes out as a residual in the mouth. Aftertaste evaporates away.
Medium mouth feel. High level of vapors from the higher ABV%, and minor tongue sting. Supportive carbonation.
Lots of rum barrel in this one, and a good contribution from the cacao/chocolate.

Prairie Artisan Ales does "big beers" about as well as anyone!!! This one was no exception!!! Poured from a stubby 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass, this beer featured a dense black color and a small dark tan/brown head that faded fast. No lacing on the glass. This is pretty normal for a beer of this strength. Aroma and taste were excellent. Rich bready malt, the rum barrel smell and flavoring, some chocolate and vanilla and a good deal of coconut were very prominent. There appeared to be a little dark fruit in the background too. Mouthfeel was mostly smooth and rich, but there was a bit of alcohol "burn" in the finish to go along with the more dominant alcohol warming effect. This is a teriffic beer!!

L: Dark black poured from a 12oz into a sniffer. Not much head risen nor signs of lacing.
S: Smelling the rum barrels for sure along with coconut, chocolate, slight vanilla, cacao nibs. Didn't get much marshmallows here.
T: Wow. Good. So good. You get the rum barrels with a mix of chocolate, coconut, slight vanilla, cacao nibs as said in the description. Picking up some dark fruit in the middle here too. Well done Prarie.
F: Easy to drink, full bodied, thick, might be a sipper for someone new to stouts/ barrel aged stouts.
O: I had this before but had to retry it and rate it and it's even better then before in my opinion. Definitely worth a try if you see it.

The beer is a black color with a small, quickly disappearing head. No lace.
Aroma of booze, chocolate, coconut, and vanilla.
Taste follows nose. Rum, chocolate/chocolate fudge, coconut, sweet vanilla.
A big beer. Sip carefully.

Beautifully dark, beautifully boozy to the nose, and beautifully think on the tongue. As a Prairie offering it was truly delicious.

Look: Black almost sludge like
Smell: Very good, coconut and chocolate smells amazing
Taste: AWFUL! Like super chocolate sludge, no coconut at all. Terrible
Feel: Super heavy, one of the worst feelings ever, and i love stouts.
Overall: Terrible. Looking so forward to drinking it and it was awful.
