Appearance: Dark black glass, no head, opaque.
Aroma: Big cinnamon, dense sweet malt profile.
Taste: Super sweet malt bomb, kinda what Prairie does. Like the nose, big deep dark malt, cinnamon spice is at a great level where it is full, but not overdone.
Mouthfeel: Heavy body, full chew, very low carbonation.
Overall: Great beer, real malt bomb, but hits all the right notes for what it is.

Received from @fbarber. Bottled on 1/21/2021 so a little over a year old when reviewed. Poured into a Prairie stemless glass. It pours an inky black with a half finger of medium-mocha colored head and a thin sheen of lacing. On the nose there is roasted malt, vanilla, milk sugar, and lots of cinnamon. It's very sweet. The cinnamon has mellowed and the vanilla and milk sugar dominate over a base of roasted malt. There are also hints of coffee and burnt char and a touch of hoppy bitterness at the finish. I suspect the flavors were more bold when it was fresh. As with most Prairie Stouts it's thick and viscous with low/moderate carbonation, and the 10.8% ABV is very well-hidden. Overall, You Gotta Horchata is a flavorful and easy-drinking Stout. It's not BOMB! but few Stouts are.

How I love this brewer, but damn, this is one super-boozy beer. Booze-forward on the tongue, it still had some balance with the sweetness from the horchata, but I would say almost-barely. The smell is about as perfect as any beer I have ever had - the practcially perfect balance of booze and sweetness that gets even better as it warms up - truly a special experience. Mouthfeel was lightly creamy, medium-bodied (surprisingly as I expected it to be a bit thicker) and well carbonated. Though the booze is on the tongue - I didn't find it to have the hard and expected after effect it did. You Gotta Horchata? You Gotta Getcha Some!

Solid black motor oil appearance with a thin tan head
Very light carbonation with a slightly watery feel with a bit of an oily touch.
Aroma is cinnamon, alcohol, malt, roasted malt, cocoa, mocha, grainy honey flavored bread.
Taste is spice, malty mocha, roasted malt, sugary cream.
A very flavorful well done beer that works really well as a dessert or night cap beer.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter
A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger creamy dark brown head that has good retention
S- aroma is predominately cinnamon and chocolate, with undertones of vanilla, caramel and brown sugar. There's even a bit of an apple pie vibe
T- cinnamon leads the way up front, followed by notes of cocoa and milk chocolate. Mid-palate gives notes of brown sugar, vanilla and a hint of cream. The finish gives more cinnamon and chocolate, with the cinnamon sticking around on the linger
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into a velvety, slightly warming finish
O- tons of cinnamon, but the sugar helps to offset it with a bit of sweetness

A- Stubby 12oz bottle poured into a narrow becher glass with a motor oil black body and a cocoa powder brown cap. The head has a foamy texture and rises to a finger high with good retention. Lacing is rare and spotty.
S- A lot of cinnamon in the aroma alongside rich dark chocolate that has both roasty and fruity notes. The cinnamon is spicy, woodsy and fairly intense but certainly inviting as it is joined by dark roast grains, some sweetness and hints of vanilla. Sweet cinnamon and chocolate.
T- Much like the aroma the cinnamon is definitely the star of the show with spicy and woodsy flavors. There is a lot of cinnamon for sure. Also coming in strong is chocolate, roast barley, sweet, booze and vanilla notes. A intense flavor profile between the cinnamon and the alcohol.
MF- Medium bodied for the ABV and the style. The carbonation is at a moderate level and the beer has a slick oily feeling as well as a warm finish. Texture is foamy and a bit creamy.
I don't mind cinnamon forward beers but this is pretty damn spicy and close to the limit for me. Cinnamon, rich dark chocolate and booze make for a nice stout but not one I will consider up there with the best.
