12 oz. canned on 05/16/23
Pours foggy hazy pale yellow gold with a quickly dissipating white foam head. Smells like dill pickle brine, habanero pepper, hot sauce, some tart orange, lemon, lime, wheaty malts, and mild earthy floral hops. Tastes like a spicy pickle, slight vinegary dill brine, hot sauce, habanero pepper, some fresh citrus, orange, lemon, lime, wheaty malts, with mild earthy floral hops. Feels medium bodied, slick with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a real nice spicy pickle sour ale.

Style: Fruit Kettle Sour

Spicy Pickle Monster is next on the review table. Served at 42 degrees in a pint glass. The pour created a frothy, airy white two-fingered head with poor retention. The head came and went leaving no lacing on the glass. The color charts around SRM 6 a pale golden with straw yellow hues. The beer is hazy, with some carbonation bubbles visible. The appearance is average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I smell dill pickles, lemon, oranges, light floral (hard to pin down what), and lightly toasted malts. The dill pickle aromas are intense, making deciphering what is in the glass challenging.
I taste dill pickle with a hint of spice like jalapeno for the first sip. Sadly knowing this beer is old, the flavors have diminished significantly. Other flavors are oranges, floral, lemon, toasted malts, and acidic acid.
The mouthfeel is puckering, finishing dry. The body is medium-light and has a medium-high carbonation.
This beer is suffering from old age; it cannot remember what it is supposed to be. If this was fresher, my palate would do a happy dance.

This beer is a clear gold color with no head.
Not much aroma. Some citrus fruit, that's about it.
Lime taste, some lemon. A hint of dill.
Sour, peppery mouthfeel.

This is one of my all time favorite beers, with the caveat that it isn't a beer you can drink one can after another I love the flavor but I especially enjoy it with food, particularly burgers, or as a change of pace from the everyday. Highly recommended is you want something delicious and different.

12 ounce can, canned on 05/20/21 stamped on the bottom of the can. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a somewhat clear gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are OK. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dill, coriander, salt, lemon and orange. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some lime and a hint of peppery spice. Not really spicy at all, they really could have kicked this up a notch or 20. But with that being said it's a good pickle beer but if you're looking for a decent amount of spice you'll be disappointed. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Worth picking up for sure if you like pickle beers, but if you're looking for a lot of spice it's not here. Maybe they should have just called this one Pickle Monster.
