This beer looks great, smells great, has all of the characteristics of a winner, but left me wanting on the taste. The beer pours a murky, golden color with a thick head. It has a very earthy (but good) smell to it. It is a very drinkable beer if you enjoy the taste. For me, I am glad to say that I have tried it, but probably wont be buying this again anytime soon.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass

A- pours a hazy pale yellow color with a small fizzy white head that reduces to leave just a bit floating on top

S- earthy and yeasty with some fruity esters of pear, lime zest, plum & green apple. Dried hay and floral notes on the close

T- earthy, yeasty & grainy up front with some grassy notes, light, lime-zest-like hop bitterness in the mid-palate leads to a bone dry yeasty finish

M- medium-light body with spritzy carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp, dry finish

O- a solid, straight up saison that delivers high drinkability

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Pours out a hazy golden with medium creamy, head. Aroma brings back memories of Belgium, yeasty funk. Taste follows with more of the same herbal , floral, yeast flavors. Only thing this misses on is the finish, which is sort of abrupt. All else is right on the money for an exemplary saison.

Picked this up at Vintage Estate for 2.99. Since I never had a Prairie ale I figured I would give it a try.

A - Bright yellow hue with a slight haze. Head is excellent a 1/2 inch that takes a minute to reduce to a sticky lace ring. Pretty.
S - Ow yeah a nice blast of hoppy pine mixed with a good bit of farm funk. Fruity yeast esters throughout.
T - Balanced hoppy and grainy taste with saison yeasts and some tart lemon funk.
M - Very crisp bubbly but not more than needed. Light to medium body.

Overall a very sessionable Saison well worth the price. Will try more of their ales!
