This beer pours a deep black with a thin head. The aroma is rich with caramel, vanilla, coffee, candy corn, toffee, vanilla wafers, and cookie dough. The flavor features lots of caramel, milk chocolate, toffee, fudge, vanilla, cinnamon, and chocolate chip cookies. The mouthfeel is very full and rich, with a sparkling touch of carbonation. Overall this is a wonderful stout - the whole noir series is absolutely brilliant - great mouthfeel all the way through.

Really dark, shiny black with a dark tan head that rapidly fizzles out to a thick collar.

Smell is oak and nutty, waxy bourbon first, with a little black pepper, beef jerky, and chocolate covered coffee bean. I get a little blackberry as it warms.

Taste is fine, sweet dark chocolate, with some cocoa roasted almonds. Oak and cedar starts to come across as some hotdog or brat-like flavor with the charcoal-laden spiced bourbon. I get a bit of a smoky exhale. As it warms, hints of roasted maple, coconut, and vanilla develop on the palate.

It is hot, but finishes sweet and nutty too. Thin to medium bodied, round but fizzy, moderately hot on way down, finishing semi-dry.

A - Pours a motor oil black with a thin tan head. Light amount of lacing.

S - Aroma is dark chocolate, vanilla and rye bourbon.

T - The taste is molasses, caramel, dark chocolate and dark roasted malts. There is a good amount of oak and spicey whiskey in the finish.

M - Thick body with low carbonation. Thick chewy mouthfeel with syrupy finish.

O - This is a very nice BA stout. The flavors are sweet and rich making this a nice slow sipper.
