Prairie SomewherePrairie Somewhere
Notes: Prairie Somewhere is a blend of golden farmhouse ale and a sour ale. Citrus fruit is used in the kettle to add intense orange and lime notes.

Pours a murky yellow, hint of brown and orange, nice head. Looks a lot like the Gold but a little less impressive.

Nose is a lot of funk, some pungent floral hops, smells dank and great.

Taste is very tart up front, quickly fades into dank hops, floral notes, some bitter orange citrus. Finishes pretty dry. Very nice.

Mouthfeel is nice, full and well carbonated.

Another great beer from Prairie.

Poured from a 500mL bottle. Bottle gushed when opened.

The look is not what I expected, as the appearance is much darker than I anticipate from a Prairie Saison. Smell is loads-o-funk with green apples...now you got my attention. Taste is very tart up front, and almost reminded me of a SARA farmhouse ale. It has an odd and mildly unpleasant finish that I am having a hard time putting an adjective to. The feel is thinner than I'd like, and the massive carbonation that gushed when the bottle was opened is now almost non-existent. Overall it is an up and down experience and I much prefer other Prairie saisons to this.

Pours a very cloudy golden color with a 1-2 finger width foamy head that quickly dissipates. Lacing is decent. Nice, sour farmhouse aroma. Typical saison yeasty flavor with a nice funky edge to it at the end. It is a bit on the watered down side, though. Little bit of a citrus twang at the end. Good beer, but not the best offering.

Looks cloudy golden-orange.
Smells like funky leather and sour furniture.
Tastes sour and tart with light lemon rind and peppery leather dominating the taste. Funky yes.
Clean and crisp, with medium body and carbonation.
A nice variation on a saison. If you like sours, you should certainly appreciate this beer.

Prairie Somewhere

A: Golden orange, very hazy, large white head, decent retention, leaves essentially zero lazing. 4

S: This has an incredible aroma. Tart, citrus, wild bacteria plastic like funk, oaky. Awesome. 4.5

T: Funkier than the aroma implied, and less sour/tart. Floral and farmhouse funk. Herbaceous, some citrus. 4

M/D: Fuller side of medium body, carbonation in the heavier size, drinkability is pretty good. 3.75

O: Overall quite good, I would have preferred that more of the tart characters from the aroma came out in the taste but very enjoyable nonetheless. 4
