750 ml caged and corked bottle, 2013 printed on cork. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a cloudy gold color with about a half inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice and tart, it smells like lemon peel, funk, sour citrus fruits, hay and some bready/grainy malt. It tastes like sour citrus, peppery spice, lemon peel, green apples, oak, grain, hay and some peaches. It's a good tart, fruity tasting brew. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit slick and has moderate carbonation. I like this, although at $14.99 a bottle I'm not sure if I'd buy it again at that price. With that being said, it's definitely worth a try.

Hazy yellow golden colored. A half inch thick off white head with vibrant carbonation bubbles within the beer. Brussels lacing. Aromas of pineapple, mango and a bit of funk waft out of my glass. The taste of peppery saison yeast is on the front of the palate. It is followed quickly by a gentle touch of the earthy rye. The rye lingers in the aftertaste along with the pineapple and mango notes. The carbonation on this beer is moderate and the mouth is pretty crisp and dry.

Bottle @ beer tasting on 1/31/2015. Pours hazy light golden in color with minimal bubbly effervescent head. Aroma is tart citrus, yeasty funk, and hints of wood. Medium body, nice carbonation with some trub-like particulate. Taste is lemon, white grape, oak and funky yeast elements nicely balanced. Very drinkable saison and the barrel aging adds a nice dimension.
