A 16.9 fl oz (500ml) bottle with oddly no bottled on date visible. Poured into a d’Achouffe tulip glass.

Appearance: It poured a cloudy golden colour with a big three finger white head that dissipated quickly but settled to a thin cap and leaves nice lacing.

Aroma: Strong earthy musty farmhouse funk and damp wood, citrus lemon and orange as well as tropical apricot.

Taste: Tart, lightly sour, light funk, lemon, honey, apple peel, pepper spice and a touch of alcohol creeping through.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: This was quite good but there was a distinct lack of oak barrel notes that I had expected. On top of that, it was a little disappointing that a bit of the alcohol creeped out into the taste.

Poured from a 16oz botte into a pint glass. Thanks Shawn for sending this to me from Cali!

Pours a hazy orange body with a fizzy white effervescent head that reduces quickly to leave no lacing or retention.

Aromas of funk, wine, farmhouse yeast, citrus, tart fruit skins, green apple. On the tongue is tart fruits, farmhouse and funk, followed by a bitterness (hops?) that lingers on the tongue for a while. White wine and spices also present. Easy drinker, light body with high carbonation, really crisp.

Enjoyable. Bitterness was a little off balancing.

Pretty prototypical Prairie farmhouse saison here. Nice mix of light funk, lemon citrus, and oak in the nose. Brett and light bitterness hit first, then oak and rye linger. Carb is nice and lively.

Good not great. Perhaps slightly under rated, but my bottle had a year plus on it.

Pours cloudy gold color with bunch of sediment floating around that leads up to a thick cloudy white head that faded slowly and left good spotty lacing. Active carbonation was visible racing up the brew.

Smells funky and fruity with yeast, lemon zest, orange peel, banana, bubblegum, coriander, pepper, light spices, wet dog hair and earthy funk. Complex with a soft sweetness, there are light oaky notes and candied sugar coming on late in the aroma.

Taste is also funky and fruity with more grains along with rye and some brett, then like the nose there is yeast, lemon, orange peel, bubblegum, coriander, pepper, light spices, barnyard and earthy funk. Its on the sour side but the spices level it out and make it quite complex with a sweetness that seems like it comes from fruit like green apples, tangerine and grapefruit and seem to showcase the hops. There are earthy notes that help hide the 8.5% ABV.

Light, zesty and smooth/slick feeling that went down easy due to very mild carbonation, this was tasty and enjoyable overall. Went well with blackened fish taco lunch and complimented / added to the meal. Way too expensive for a 16 oz bottle, but worth a shot.

Bottle @ beer tasting on 1/31/2015. Pours hazy light golden in color with minimal bubbly effervescent head. Aroma is tart citrus, yeasty funk, and hints of wood. Medium body, nice carbonation with some trub-like particulate. Taste is lemon, white grape, oak and funky yeast elements nicely balanced. Very drinkable saison and the barrel aging adds a nice dimension.
