Our Imperial India pale ale uses Golden Promise malt and two very pungent whole-cone American hops. This brew is hopped so heavily that, after all of the wort has been transferred to the fermenter post-boil, the hop mass at the bottom of the kettle is more than one foot deep. Post-fermentation, Jabberwocky is dry hopped with colossal amounts of the same two hops. The beer is named after a monster we all hold dear.

Murky orange/copper, bone white head.
Smells like toasted raisin bread, grapefruit, and Christmas trees.
Initially, sweet, almost syrupy. Balance is from a grapefruit rind, pine resin, citrus hop profile.
I got bit by the hop bug years ago and kinda grew out of it, this is very drinkable if you’re already used to intense IPA’s. It’s very well made by an exceptional brewery. Good stuff.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a lightly hazed orange-amber color with a small head of white foam. The head fades very fast, leaving a touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rather light overall, consisting mostly of a bready and grainy smell mixed with some pine and earthy hops. Along with these aromas comes a touch of hay, caramel, and herb as well.
Taste – The taste begins with a slightly drier, bready and cracker malt flavor that is paired with hop flavors of herb and pine. There is a little bit of a caramel and citrus sweetness upfront, which fade as the taste advances forward. AT the same time the hop flavors increase and are joined by some new hop flavors of an earthy nature. Toward the end the maltiness bumps up a bit, leaving one with a somewhat more dank and moderately crisp, but malt supported flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium to slightly thicker in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is lower. For the dank hops and the middle of the road maltiness the feel is rather well done and makes for a nice sipper.
Overall – A pretty nice IPA with a more dank flavor and rather pleasant and easy drinkability. Overall, a good one to try if the opportunity arises.

Definitely piney, a bit too much so for my taste, but I've had IPAs that take it further. Not much else to taste but the strong hops. I like this one colder than most and can drink one every once in a while.

Picked up a six pack of cans. Canned on date of 06/08/22.

Pours a golden, copper in color with a half inch of frothy white head atop. There are a noticeable amount of particulates. Lots of lacing on the glass. Carbonation looks to be on the lower side, perhaps hiding some zestiness.

Aroma is fresh, pungent hops. Dank, resinous, earthy. Theres a toasted maltiness to round it out. Smells intense!

Taste follows the nose quite well. Actually somewhat balanced up front with a lovely, toasted toffee and butter maltiness. Quickly goes hoppy from there. It's so pungent it's hard to identify notes other than "piney" and "dank". Perhaps some blueberry, orange peel, grapefruit rind. Finishes very bitter with lingering dank, pine hoppiness on the tongue. Did I mention that it's dank and piney?

Medium bodied and viscous, lots of hop oil in this one. The carbonation is very subtle, but it's there. A tiny bit zesty if you swash it around on your tongue, but otherwise pretty velvety. For an 8.2% with 114 IBU, it still remains drinkable, but I would definitely not have more than two of these. It is most definitely a palate wrecker, drinker beware.

Well now, this is quite an intense experience. On first sip, I think it was a bit too intense, but as I got down to the bottom of the glass, I started to savor it a bit. While I think this may be slightly over-hopped, the malt balance pulls it back just enough to still be enjoyable for me. Somehow this even seems to be sitting in my stomach a bit easier than the Yellow Rose. If you're into dank, resinous hops, this is a must try. Just make sure you get it fresh. Another solid brew from Lone Pint. Cheers!

EDIT: after finishing my first six pack, I found myself craving this. I have since picked up a few more six packs. This is quickly becoming my favorite double IPA.

Nice honey colored body, clear; sparse carbonation; thick, frothy head, white and lasting. Faint, malty aroma with a touch of spiciness. Big malty, grain-like taste with a moderately heavy bitterness; earthy caramel sweetness; cardamom; peppery. Heavy body with a fine coarseness tickling the palate; thick and sticky; low-key alcohol warmth.

This is a nice, malt-forward imperial India pale. At about a month and a half in age, I wonder if some of the hop aroma and flavor may have disappeared, yet the beer still has some fine qualities overall.

Probably my favorite DIPA. A lovely malt backbone, with loads of resinous hop character. Aroma isn't terribly complex for a DIPA (mostly malty, with some resin and grapefruit), but the palate more than makes up for this. I love the use of Golden Promise as the base malt. The malt sweetness is perfectly balanced with the hop bitterness. Lovely piney and resinous hops, with just enough pithy citrus to keep it interesting. A wonderful beer, and even more wonderful now that I can get it in 12oz cans!

Raul is into gifts, ya know? Anything and from anywhere. I’ll drink it, eat it, put it on display, and even wear it. That being said, your boy is also honest. If something tastes bad, I’ll let you know like Bobby’s latest Yelp review of the DMV. If it’s ugly, I’ll Joan Rivers your ass “Fashion Police” style as if she was still kicking. Some sort of whack table piece? I’ll throw that damn thing out like a stale Pop Tart if I’m not feeling it.

And…?

I’m coming around on it like Cigar on the last turn. At first Raul was like…. But now… It’s different. It’s all kinds of different just like this Air BnB student from China that lived with Mrs. Raul early on in our relationship. Yeah, the one that never left her room. Jabberwocky almost speaks to me. Like said student, - I may not understand Manderin, but I know the human soul. And even though we couldn’t talk directly to one another, I still felt her emotion. And in Jabberwocky, at first I didn’t understand it, but right now I think that I understand it’s emotion. And from there, I’ll go with it.

Rawhide, my children.

From a bottle packaged 12/27/21. Slightly hazy orange with an inch of cream colored head. Strong citrusy hop smell on opening the bottle. Medium body and a slightly sticky, resin feel. A hop bomb with citrusy hop flavors and some pine and earthy notes.

The 16 ounce bottle dated 08/16/2021 pours an orange and malty color with a 1 finger head. It smells a malt and citrus, mostly orange with some hints of pine. Tastes of bitter fruit and citrus. It's thick and smooth almost creamy but the bitterness is the deciding factor for an Imperial IPA. Overall it tastes more like a true IPA with it's West Coast bitterness but doesn't finish dry. Some will enjoy the bitterness more than others. It may be more surprising if it were fresher. Would buy again.
