Appearance: Pours a dark amber, somewhat thin head that quickly dissapates to nothing with no collar and no lacing. Loads of medium size bubbles quickly from the bottom of the glass.

Aroma: Phew! This beer has some funk! Upon opening it has a nearly overwhelming scent of skunkiness and funk. Its not bad, but wow does it have some character - certainly curious about whats coming next. Aside from that and breadiness, not much else in the scent.

Mouthfeel: Relatively mild carbonation, light thickness, about what I'd expect but nothing remarkable.

Taste: Definitely more calm than the scent would suggest. A perfect example of a pilsener - but nothing truly extraordinary either. Definitely less skunky tasting than the scent suggests. Overall balanced. Notes of bread, light sweetness, grainy, I taste no hints of fruitiness as other reviewers have suggested though.

Overall: For the cost this would be a very nice sessionable beer, ideal for a hot summer day. Probably an easy "next step" for macro drinkers.

Decanted from a green bottle into a tulip pint glass; best before 09.29.17.
A: Clear golden color with small white head that cleared rapidly.
S: Bitter hops and sea salt predominate.
T: Light maltiness off-set by mild bitterness and salinity.
M: Light to medium bodied; would be more refreshing if not for the persistence of the salinity in the mouth.
O: A basic lager beer. I was surprised by the saltiness; would be more balanced and better without it. I was actually expecting more based on the back story.

The beer is a golden straw color, clear so you can see the mild carbonation. There was little to no head. The beer is super bready smelling. The smell of biscuit and that typical euro aroma combine for this malt heavy aroma. The beer tastes much like the nose, a little sweeter but still a strong bready flavor. The beer is crisp with mild carbonation.

Golden color with no real head to speak of. Has a familiar grainy euro smell to it. Light fizz and easy drinking. I would get this again....it is a totally inoffensive beer that anyone can knock back without complaint.

Appearance - golden straw color with little in the way of head

Smell - biscuits, grains, slight euro skunk

Taste - biscuit, grain, slight skunk, bread

Mouthfeel - lighter end of medium bodied, light carbonation, slight sweetness upfront, hop bite at the back end

Overall - decent pilsner here that I would revisit

Price point - $1.79/ 11.2 oz bottle

Didn't realize that this got re-branded. I swear I remember it being sold stateside as Budweiser Budvar, but that must have been at least ten years ago.

Bottle says it's good until December of this year, which make me think this was bottled in December of last year. Pours kind of flat for the style, but a pretty dark yellow.

Smells of surprisingly tame malt but with a nice, saaz hop profile. Faint when compared to, say, Urquell, but still livelier than mainstream American iterations of "pilsners."

Tastes solid. Pale malt, decent hop backbone. Some mild fruitiness and hay up front, finishing with nice dry saaz.

Look: It pours golden with a white head. Head retention is moderately low.

Smell: It has a strong herbal aroma that is grainy sweet. The is a hint of honey in the background.

Taste: It is grainy sweet with a moderate fruit flavor. The fruit flavor is pear like in quality.

Feel: It has a moderately light body with a grainy sweet aftertaste.

Overall, this is a grainy sweet fruity beer.

L: brilliant gold with rapidly rising bubbles under a 1/2" white cap with poor retention.

S: a faint hint of sulfur , the malt aromas emerge much brighter with bread dough and bread crumb prominent among the malt aromas along with some grain. The floral hops are bright and fresh. The malt and hop aromas are medium.

T: rich complex malt flavors come through, well-rounded bitterness supported by floral, spicy hop flavors. A very slight touch of diacetyl gives the beer a touch more body and depth..

F: It has medium body and carbonation. It's a shame.

O: a true classic

Golden colour, fast-dissipating head. Some skunk on nose. Good taste with prickly carbonation. Bitter finish.

Golden yellow, light smell of typical European pilsner. Clean and light tasting with perfect bite and medium lingering of hops which give that tannin like feeling of dryness. Great taste, definitely a go to beer and one of my faves for the past few months!
