Canned date of 02/04/16

Appearance - Pours hazy and golden amber in color with an off-white, finger width head. Fair retention, then gives way to a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Lacing is mostly spotty with a few broken lines left on the glass.

Smell - Fruity and juicy, as the name implies. Orange and red grapefruit with hints of pineapple and mango. Faint, caramel undertone.

Taste - Follows the nose. Juicy orange, red grapefruit and mild pineapple acidity hit the tongue first. Lightly spicy. Malts sit beneath, but add enough caramel, grain and toasted malt to keep the brew balanced. Citrusy finish, with lingering notes of juicy red grapefruit and orange.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Slick, quaffable texture. Goes down quite nicely before a semi-dry finish.

Overall - Pretty tasty. One I'd definitely love to try again. Hint, hint Mr Pitts. :p

Beer is very clear and a nice gold color with a light white head that leaves a good amount of lacing behind. The aroma is full of citrus with some floral hops and sweet malt. The taste is lightly sweet with a nice bitter bite at the end. The middle has a light sweetness with orange and a good amount of pith that adds to the bitterness.

A- Light copper color. Typical IPA
S - Strong fruity, citrus aroma as to be expected in a grapefruit and blood orange IPA
T- Extremely fruity. Can't pinpoint a particular fruit flavor, appropriately named fruit basket as this is more of a fruit punch IPA than solely grapefruit or orange
M - Dry finish with moderate carbonation.
Overall - Excellent IPA. Possibly the best IPA in Virginia that gets distributed in a bottle or can format. I'll be looking for this again in the future.

Can dated 02/04:
Ok, so reading the label, this is essentially a fruit beer/IPA. It is in the ilk of the Grapefruit Sculpins I would assume.

Cracking the can open gave me that impression. I don't always have the freshest GF Sculpins, but the waft that hit me on can opening and pour added to the parallel of the two beers. That pour was close to clear amber orange, with a little head build up. The white stuff was spattered across the surface with a medium ring at the edge that produced medium amount of lacing.

Nose is grapefruit pulp strong and dominant, with a hint of mintiness moreso than pine. Warmth does bring out some bitterness in the form of grapefruit pith.

The taste starts more bitter than I expected after this nose. More pithy on the tongue than citrus fruity from the nose. The pine also becomes the dominant taste though I still get a light mint kick also. A little resinous in back, but the bulk of the flavor does fall off fairly fast. A thin pith and pine film does seem to linger over my tongue.

I was thinking this would be too juicy, but with medium warmth, the beer goes from leaning pretty nicely to the fruity side to being a decent IPA (thought the citrus is not completely lost).

Pours into a small tulip glass a clear brass color with nearly a full one finger slight off white head atop that leaves a clean glass it settles quickly.Grapefruit and tangerine aromas, some of the blood orange rounds it out,not alot of bitterness just alot of good fruitiness. The palate is cleaner than expected no sharp bitterness just good well rounded citrus goodness, mild alcohol sweetness and biscuit malts underneath.Dare I say easy going at 8%...maybe,it's just really good.

Beautiful light golden-yellow color with lots of frothy head. Tons of citrus on the nose, especially pineapple and a touch of grapefruit. Tast is decent with the citrus coming forward but overall, a touch muddled and bland. Mouth feel is nice and this is a good fruity IPA>

12oz can poured into a teku
Canned 2-3-16

A- pours a clear deep golden-amber color with a small foamy white head that reduces to a think film, eventually disappearing completely

S- earthy & herbal hops up front with some red berry fruitiness, followed by citrus peel and grapefruit. Underlying sweet malt and a hint of booze

T- Spicy and fruity earthy & herbal hop flavors up front with some citrus pith and a hint of mint leaf. Mid-palate is sweet and slightly bready with more earthy notes. The finish brings a citrus zest bitterness with a linger of orange & herbal hops

M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that finishes creamy

O- the citrus addition works well with the mosaic hop, only downside is it's a bit too sweet on the malty side
