Poured out of a can into a Pilsner glass, best by 7/3/23. A day past it’s best. A golden yellow with a one finger head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is bread, grassy. Slight lemon. Taste is right in line. Feel is in line for the style, medium high amount of carbonation and light feel. Overall , a good Czech pils.

Champion Brewing Co. "Shower Beer"
12 fl. oz. can "BEST BY 7/3/23 12:46:26" and sampled on 6/12/23
Notes via stream of consciousness: Here we have a Czech-style Pils at 4.5% BV with 35 IBUs. It's poured a gold body with a little hit of a haze beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is grainy, grassy, and herbal. The flavor follows with some added floral and spicy character. In the mouth it's medium bodied on the lighter side and crisp with a slightly lower than standard carbonation. The 35 IBUs balance it well and it finishes crisp, dry, bitter, grassy, herbal, and just lightly spicy. I'm not sure what else needs to be said about this. It's a little more on the bitter side but certainly not out of style, and although I'd like a little more hop in the aroma you can't fault it there. A little more polish would be nice, but again... ahh, wait, there is one thing - the head retention and lacing could have both been better. Still, in the end it's a great beer that's hard to argue against.

Enjoyed a pint with a late lunch today at the Six Pence Pub in Blowing Rock, NC for $6.00.
Beer was served clear gold with an okay white head.
Nose was white crackers forward.
Taste was a white crackers malt base that was spiced with black pepper Saaz hops. Finished balanced; 5/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel was light bodied and refreshing.
Overall it was a nice thirst-quenching brew after marching around at Linville Falls and the trail to the Stack Rock on the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Picked up a six-pack of this as well as a couple of Oktoberfest imports today. Poured a faintly hazy, golden hue with a very nice fluffy white head that quickly dissipated.
I detected faint aromas of noble hops and spice.
This one is very close in character to a classic Czech-style pilsner. The delicate hop profile and malt complement evince flavors of crackers and lemon zest. The carbonation is rather sharp, but that only contributes to the refreshing and quaffable qualities. There is a very faint sourness that I don't like, but considering this was canned over two months ago, this may be a factor of age.
This is perfect for the continuing hot weather here in Florida. I am still surprised about the availability of those Oktoberfest beers.

Served on tap into a 16 oz (473 ml) shaker pint glass at The Tap House in Tuckahoe, NY.
A: Pours a slightly hazy, but richly golden color with a two finger, fluffy, foamy yellow head, a finger of retention after several minutes, and complex rings of lacing.
S: Light aromas of lemon rind/zest, dragon fruit, grapefruit, and maybe some lychee, as well as peppery, spicy and grassy notes.
T: Semidry to dry. Palate fruity and spicy like the nose with a stronger caramel and almost toffee element. Moderate bitterness, but very much in evidence given the style.
M: Light to medium bodied with solid carbonation. Subtly astringent, but not unpleasantly so.
O: Had this with bratwurst and spaetzl. Amazingly fruity and fun Pilsner: if this were what most Pilsners were like, I wouldn't have made the switch.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a narrow white collar around the edge and lots of lacing on the surface.
S: Light aromas of grassy hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a light to medium amount of grassy hops with notes of spicy hops and hints of bready malts. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This lager doesn't feel that heavy on the palate and is very easy to drink.

12oz canned 5-4-20, opened 6-12-20.
2 finger white head with very good retention, slowly falls to a 1/4' dense foam with small, tight bubbles. Early lacing.
Straw gold pilsner with good clarity and active visible carbonation.
Bread dough malts and sweet, grassy hay...floral, grassy hop aroma.
Paper flavor, not oxidized or stale...somewhat weak malt profile, spicy hops followed by an astringent hop bitterness that doesn't seem to fit.
Thin-ish body, medium-high carbonation...close to crisp. Quick and dry papery finish with a good punch of lingering grassy hop bitterness.
I like some of this and other parts I don't...looks great, smells pretty solid but falls off a little in the taste and feel category.
Good.
