On tap at the Plano, Texas location.

The beer pour a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma has some chocolate and roasted malt notes, as well as some light smoke. The smoke is more intense in the flavor, where there is also some chocolate and roasted malt notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

With the tag line of "robust dark ale," I was surprised how smooth it was. Very Guinness-esque. Not what I expected but not bad.

Enjoyed on tap at the Glendale location. Opaque black with a white head, thick, lacey. Subtle roast aroma.Creamy coffee makes this a good mouthfeel, and brings out the coffee an the graininess. Mollasses and chocolate as well. This batch rated 6.4% abv.

Consumed at the Canoga Park BJ's.

Appearance- Body is deep, dark, opaque dark brown or black. Looks blacker than Bill Gate's heart. The head is afrothy, long lasting light brown that leaves behind a very nice lacing.

Aroma- The aroma is predominately roasted coffee with a bit of astringent roast malt and just a hint of dark chocolate. Of course, no hoppy aroma.

Taste- Lots of roasted malt with coffee over-tones. Some malt sweetness hiding in the back, but you really have to look for it. It also has a light taste of dark chocolate. The taste really is quite good.

Mouthfeel- Body is rather heavy. the carbonation is very tight. This combiniation gives you a very nice creaminess that makes it very smooth to drink. The mouthfeel alone makes this beer worth trying.

Drinkability- This is really well done and again is a very impressive beer. It's not the best porter I've had, but it's likely the best porter you're likely to find on tap outside of the UK.

This beer is a dark brown color with ruby highlights around the edges. Has a nitro-creamy light beige head with excellent lacing and retention.

I smell dried moss, peat, unsweetened chocolate and cocoa powder. Nose is pretty sparse, but fresh.

Earthy, peaty and chocolate flavors abound! Somewhat watery and thin. Was not too sure of this one after a sip or two, but it seems to be growing on me quite a bit. A decent beer, worth trying when making a visit to BJ's.
