Style: American Brown Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.90%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Nutty Brewnette is an American-style brown ale. A blend of four different dark malts contributes to a flavor profile that is sweet with “nutty” notes. A healthy dose of hops makes this beer hoppier and more balanced than most English brown ales.

Very dark for a brown, with a nitro-like, soft, large blanket and creamy lace.

Smell is nutty toast and roasted malt, slightly aerated. Burnt caramel emerges as it warms.

This tastes closer to an Irish stout than a brown, with chocolate and roasted malt that is semi-bitter. A little tang with coffee and nuts develops.

Very light and thin, finishing semi-dry.

Tasted on tap at the Albuquerque location.
Color is deep red verging on mahogany. Persistent, creamy tan head. Aromas of break and light roasted notes with only a hint of earthy hops. Flavors dominated by lightly roasted malt. Low flavors of Indistinct hops; clean fermentation with very low fruity yeast. Medium body with low carbonation. Hops bitterness is low. No alcohol presence. Overall an ok brown ale but I expected more hops presence in an "American-style Brown Ale".
