Standard BJ's and sports bar look, although this BJ's seems bigger than others I've been to. The beer here wasn't as good as I remember this chain serving, maybe that's just me.

V - BJ's has an upscale brewpub vide. They have a handful of TVs playing sports, but I wouldn't call it a sports bar. It definitely has a nicer-than-sports-bar vibe.

Q - The beers I've had at BJ's have always been solid and/or really good. I'd recommend their beers to anyone going there to eat. The Jeremiah Red is my go-to.

S - The service is usually very good. I recently went on graduation/Memorial Day weekend in May 2022, and it seems like they were short staffed (possibly have been throughout the pandemic). So for me service was very slow, but I expect that to be better when/if it gets back to pre-pandemic staffing.

S - BJ's has a really good selection of their own beers in multiple styles as well as a handful of offerings from other brewers. In my state, they have one or two local beers as well.

F - Food is upper tier tavern/pub food. I've loved every appetizer and entree I've ate from here. I really enjoy the burgers and always sub in sweet potato fries (because they are a superior product to regular fries). The Pizookie deserts are ridiculously good.

This is a smooth Porter without bite. It pairs well with burgers or ribs, both of which are very good here. (Personal opinion: skip the pizza and desserts.) Service is usually good but not blazingly fast. Also, their prime rib is surprisingly good.

Stopped by at a BJ's when I was visiting the Sacramento area.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Food was not bad either and the portions were filling. I had their BBQ pulled work which was made with one of their red ales.
But mainly their beer was fairly good, especially the Tatonka stout which was unfortunately the only beer I could have.
Were I not traveling, I would have definitely sampled more of their beer. I was very keen to try their porter actually.
Worth stopping by to sample their beers.
I would surely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good food and beer. It is definitely not very pricey and the beers are sold at a reasonable price too.

I went to BJ's as part of my St. Patricks Day celebration. I've had the fish and chips, it was mediocre. Their beer is good though. I have only had the Piranha pale ale, it's a good one. It is actually the first "hoppy" beer I ever had a few years ago. It's what got me started on pale ales and IPA's. I also had the Maredsous 8, which of course is awesome, they served it in a pokal. If you go here, I heard their Italian food is best. I would definitely recommend this place. Overall it's a good place for a beer drinker.

A large modern restaurant chain, with a respect for craft beers through essentially its own beers. A decent lineup, quality control and tweaking of recipes are certainly going on to enhance popularity, drinkability of the beers, and a lot of training for staff in essentially pushing the food part of the business. Much more elegant and lit up than the Yrad House but then again the Yard House is much more craft beer selection oriented with its 100 tap lines.

I enjoyed the beer, our party the root beer, lots of parking. The grand cru at one time brought people out, I did not get it, and think Phoenix has moved up by leaps and bounds since that beer was noted as a focal point of the local beer scene. Long bar.

First, note the location to understand the (initial) attraction.

This link of the chain was located in The Village annex of the Chandler Fashion Center, tucked away in a back corner near the intersection of the 101 Freeway and Frye Road, past some fountains. Above the entryway were a set of turbine-like fan blades, slowly rotating in the desert heat and immediately giving the place an industrial feel.

Entering, twin m.d.s.'s flanked the doorway with restaurant tables and chairs along the right windows. By ascending a short flight of steps between the two m.d.s.'s, I came upon two half-moon booths which sat on either side of the wide platform with the long, marble-topped bar on the left side. The center of the bar area had three island tables with high chairs. Along the right side of the bar area, and wrapping around to create a rectangle, were a series of standard booths. On the other side of the booths was a continuation of the bar area. It culminated in a long series of booths against the back wall which fronted a huge bank of windows overlooking the highly polished, copper-jacketed brewhouse with the grain silo and several FVs in the overhead. Speaking of the overhead, there were lots of murals depicting hard-working industrial types, as well as exposed ducting, fans, and suspended lighting. Also on display were two wood barrels. Barrel-aged beer at a brew chain?!? Do NOT let me hear you pooh-poohing the chains. This is big-time, cutting-edge brewing, folks. A long, outdoor patio area ran along the right side of the building. The whole place was very impressive.

My server this day was Richard (Rich) B. from Syracuse as old-home week continued. They also offered a wide array of bottled Belgian beers. I had pizza for lunch and the countertop pizza caddy was shaped like a grain silo. Ha!

Beers: Brewhouse Blonde (Kolsch); Harvest Hefeweizen; Piranha Pale Ale; BJ's Jeremiah Red; Nutty Brewnette (American Brown Ale); BJ's P. M. Porter; and Tatonka (Imperial) Stout. "Special Brews" during my visit included ESB; Nit Wit; and Ciaran Barleywine (their version of Fuller's London Pride).

Mom Test: My mom's surname by marriage, so whaddya think? Your mom? Well, unless her last name is Chandler, it may not be as compelling. That said, it was a nicely kept place, so I imagine that most moms would dig it.

Found BJ's while waiting for a movie to start at a nearby theater.

The look is more of a night club look than a true brewpub - very canned/cookie cutter feel The bartender was quite friendly, but the atmosphere seemed that he was making more cocktails than pulling taps. He was more than happy to let me sample some of their beers.

Most of the bar crowd was centered at the huge screen TVs watching sports, was pretty loud, not really a great place to talk with an old friend (As I was doing this evening).

The did have a large selection of their own brews which the bar tender said were brewed on site and a few other brands as well.

I would probably go back, but it wasn't anything worth raving over.

Impressed. It was good for "commercialized" beer and I really liked the Backdraft. All of the IPAs were good and I liked the food selection, pizza was good. Dont expect the bartenders and staff to know anything about beer because they don't. That was the downfall. It was good to visit and a place to sit and chill but if you're a true beer monger then you wont like it very much...yada yada yada...Arizona needs some good breweries in it, especially in the Snottsdale area..BJ's was also in Houston too, found it good there as well.

BJ's is in a great location if you ever get dragged to the mall with the wife/girlfriend! Its a nice looking place. It does have the feel and look of a chain. Not too bad, but you can tell. It is a nice comfortable feel however. Plenty of seating, and tv's. Waitstaff is hit or miss. Sometimes you get one that has a pretty impressive understanding of thier beer, other times, you get an ASU student, that isn't all that intreasted. However, they are quick, and reliable, just know lack beer knowledge. THe beers are all at least good, ranging to very good. I love thier Tatonka Stout, and they do a decent seasonl pumpkin ale most of the time.
Food here is very good. High end pub grug, but decenlty priced. Pizza is awesome, and pretty good burgers.
Worth a visit if you are at the mall. I nice place to sit and relaxing whole christmas shopping!

Atomsphere- looks like a chain restaurant/bar, typical chain decor. One thing that really turned me off about this place that really turned me off about this place was the cheesey 80's pop music that kept coming on the stereo, had a large brewery set-up on far end of the bar, not sure if it was actually in use or if it was just for show

Quality- the house brews I tried I liked, they had a decent IPA, a nice russian imperial stout, an irish red ale that a guy who was sitting down the bar from us was raving about, also a respectable selection of belgians that were all quality ales

Service- staff was attentive and helpful, and fairly knowledgeable about their products

Selection- a decent selection of beers, a good number of styles represented in their house brews, no real macros which was very nice, they most widely available beer they had on hand was guinness draught, which is still a respectable beer

Food- Didn't try any yet, but a guy down the bar oreder something that did not look very appetizing, So maybe try the food for yourself, if I'm wrong, i'll edit my reveiw later

all in all, not a bad place to grab a beer, would stop by again if I was in the area

Reviewing multiple visits. I like the BJ's chain. There food is above par and consistent between the locations. Their menu is, if anything, too big and I often have a hard time choosing pizza over sandwiches let alone what type. The wait staff has been generally been knowledgeable about beer styles and have even surprised me with their knowledge before. Their regular rotation of beers is good, but I have a problem with their not having enough variety in their seasonals. I don't remember them having a single IPA all summer, but the same stout for months. I whish they had a bigger selection of non BJ's stuff on tap, but I guess they are pushing their product and I can understand that. Good food great atmosphere and hand crafted beers make it hard not to enjoy the experience.

A- located in a mall, as you walk up you can see the tanks through the windows, place is awful good looking at night. It was saturday so there was a wait, which was not bad at all especially with a water fountain out front that does tricks.
once inside the beer is very cozy, some booths are made from cut up grain silos (or at least appear that way). Placed was packed, but well spaced out, so it was quite peaceful, and everyone was sportin' smiles and having good conversation with friends and family.

Q & S(election)& F- food is pretty good, i split a pizza w/ my girlfriend, and had some garlic cheese bread that is good also. The pizza is deep dish chicago style, im a new york style pizza guy myself, but i did like this stuff.
Beer was better than i thought it'd be. they had a kolsch, pale ale, irish red, imp. stout, porter, american brown, and a hefe. Kolsch, hefe, and brown were good. The imperial stout had good flavor, but the mouthfeel was superthin, kinda disappointing. The porter was hyped as being perfect for dessert, and they were not lying. The irish red was very good, fruity and malty, makes me wanna see this style more often. The pale ale was awesome, cascade and chinook hops, wow, i was loving it.

S- waiter was knowledge, always around when needed, kept glasses full, quick to fufill any requets, and even gave me 4 free pint glasses when i asked to buy just one. Awesome.

This is my first BJs and it is a pretty nice setup and scene. There are quite a few TVs scattered about, including a gigantic one behind the bar area. There is also a nice covered patio area that is kept cool with misters, which makes it much more comfortable for evening sitting in the Arizona heat. I like the feel of this place, there is a sort of designed, newish, bright feel to it that reminds me a bit of the Goose Island Clybourn location.

The food menu is quite extensive with a hearty take on the typical brew-pub fare. I ordered a wedge salad, which is a wedge of iceberg lettuce with blue cheese, bacon, tomatoes, red onions and blue cheese dressing. The salad was quite tasty and was a great start to the meatloaf dinner that I ordered. The serving size was quite large and it was served with brown gravy, mash potatoes, and a nice mix of veggies. This was all solid fare, but I did like the wedge salad the best.

The service was very solid, and I would be willingly subjected to the friendly wait staff again, though it did taper off a bit as the night wore on. They perhaps could use a bit more training on the types and styles of beer, but this is a minor complaint.

The beer here was quite tasty. I was expecting a typical generic brew pub, but the beers are definitely a step above ye-old-average brew-pub. I was quite impressed with all of the beers, and I can't wait to go to the new Tucson location that has just opened up.
