Tasting notes at on the menu say that this beer is compared favorably to west-coast IPAs, and the IBU rating of 66 certainly would suggest that; however there is a serious lack of refinement that prevents this reviewer from making such a favorable comparison. The bitterness of this beer was very heavy handed, almost medicinal in nature. Compared to Big Eye or Stone IPA, both of which pack more IBUs, Fate's APA was no where near as smooth or pleasant to drink. That having been said, the beer was well crafted, but blunt. I can see the underpinnings of a great beer, hopefully with a little more experimentation they can turn this from hop-bomb to a sessionable IPA.

Straight ahead at the plow progeny of SNPA, this is an AMERICAN pale ale, big on hops, grapefruit bitter, with just enough malt to keep you from tucking tail and begging for mercy.

On tap at brewery. This one deserves a review. Not sure how the ratings aren't higher. Very unique pale ale.

This clocks in at 6.0% abv with ibus close to 70. Expect an ipa/extra pale ale rather than a traditional pale ale. Comes out with a gorgeous orange hue, almost looks like grapefruit juice. Amazing balance in the taste. Maris otter is the malt bill here and it shines balancing the hope to perfection. Nice blend of hope. This is a superb drinkable beer. Excellent mouth feel.

Great hoppy pale ale. Not as well balanced as a traditional pale, but a wonderful beer.
