A zesty enterprise of citrus hop character and invigorating citrus aroma, thanks to the addition of 10 pounds of fresh grapefruit zest and a little juice. This lighter bodied "single pale ale" features Centennial, Cascade and Chinook hops, making it refreshingly hop forward and pleasantly bitter with a delightful grapefruit nose. Cheers, Your Grace.

A grapefruit pale ale that doesn't quite capture the true, intense essence of grapefruit as well as something like Grapefruit Sculpin, but a tasty beer in its own right. Both aroma and palate are surprisingly subtle, no huge zings of grapefruit flavor or smell, no big hop wallop to amplify the effect. Really, you get the grapefruit in the aftertaste. It sort of lingers there in the background, its bitterness hanging on lightly but noticeably. Body is a bit wet, not filling, but again, sans a big hip assault, leaves the beer feeling tame, if at least accessible. Fate's hoppy brews are generally excellent, so it's no surprise the base pale ale is solid here, but as a grapefruit pale ale it doesn't quite hit the mark as you'd hope. Maybe a nice training wheels brew before throwing GF Sculpin at someone.
