Visited on a midday weeknight, and the place was packed. Large concrete top bar that can seat about 15 or so, along with a number of tables indoors and on the front patio, there weren't many seats left. They listed 17 on draft with 3 guest taps. $6 flights of 3 four ounce tastings or a pint. I enjoyed a tasty chicken sandwich along with two pints - great quality all around. Service was prompt and eager to keep your glass full. One of the better places I have visited across the country.

McFate has a good selection of different kinds of beers! Food menu is normal brewery, burger, pizza, salads, apps, etc. Best place for beer with spice in the Phoenix area I have found. My issue is it is in Scottsdale so you have to be prepared for that type of crowd. The staff is super friendly and the location has a very chill modern atomsphere with seating inside and outside, but can get very loud depending on how many people are there. If you have a hard time choosing beer, can always choose off their beer wall based off the adorable designed boards they have.

A gem in the city of Scottsdale, Fate Brewing offers a multitude of quality styles and a cozy atmosphere. Small food plates are offered along with their dozen beers, ranging from a golden ale and Vienna lager to an Irish Red and Export Stout. Not much in the way of a really strong beer, but a number of very easy drinking beers available. The hatch chile version of their golden ale was very fun to drink as well as their hoppy Red Ale. I would have loved to spend more time at this place, however dinner plans got in the way.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The bar is large and modern with a nice vibe. 12 of their own beers on tap with a nice cross section of styles. I didn't have any food. I'd be happy to hang out here if I lived in the neighborhood

Cool, low key, inline strip mall spot. They only had 4 of their own beers on when I was there, but they had some cool guest drafts. Great brick oven pizza that goes great with good beer. Server was cool and attentive. I would go back any time I was in the area for sure.

Cream of the crop in AZ, as far as I'm concerned, and with a huge 2nd location set to open in Summer of 2015. This review is for the original location, a cozy little joint with window views of the 7 BBL system, as well as a brick oven pizza in back (excellent pizzas here). Beer is high quality, staff is friendly, vibe is great, pretty much what you'd want in a nice little neighborhood brewpub...well, that and excellent beer, which is available in spades.

Fantastic brewery, still hits and misses but as a small batch brewery they really have more quality than misses. They are doing things older breweries wished they could accomplish, Steve McFate is a seriously great guy as well!

This place was great. Good food, even better beer. There beer is also outside of the box. I had a galaxy hopped sour, a sour stout, oatmeal double IPA and a hatch chile cream ale. All were excellent. Solid small brewery. Go here if you are in Phoenix.

The house beers were very good. Big props to the session IPA and sour stout. The pizza was very good, but it was their house oil that put it over the top. Spicy, but excellent!

The atmosphere is kind of lacking and they were understaffed at lunch but I wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend to friends.

One thing about AZ is the beer is always a coin toss. You never know what you're going to get in that glass when you get poured an AZ beer. Luckily, FATE almost always knocks that shit out of park! Can't say I've ever gone into FATE and not had a beer I didn't like. I like the constant rotation and the always great variety of styles available. Oh yeah, food is great!

Beers are terrific. Recently had his Single Hop Sour and I like it so much I took a growler home. The Hatch Chile Cream Ale is a must try and goes perfect with mexican food. Like the IPA's and the American Pale Ale is great. I have had three versions of the Candy Bar Milk Stout (normal one, Imperial Bourbon Barrel Aged, and Chile Infused) and loved each one of them. Can't wait to go back again and again.

Limited food menu however the pizzas are top notch. You can tell they use quality ingredients and the dough is made in house.

Great little microbrewery. I try to visit Fate Brewery every time I'm back in Phoenix. Their Pale Ale is closer to an IPA (Not that it is a bad thing) but in general the food and beer are top notch. Would recommend for anyone looking for craft beer in Scottsdale.

Stopped in for a quick couple of pints while at a conference up the road. I had heard of the Candy Bar Milk Stout and was anxious to see if it measured up to expectations. It was in fact quite tasty. Nice lactose, good use of cacao nibs but really amazing was the roasted peanut character.

Not much else to say about the place. Good setup in a nondescript shopping center in Scottsdale (what other kind is there?). Bartender was pleasant. Other beers were ok.

Looking forward to checking it out on future trips to the area.

Fate is one of those breweries that I am never disappointed at when I go. Super solid IPAs, some are the best I have ever had. A few of their beers didn't meet the mark but overall impressive. Food is pretty good, not incredible but enjoyable for sure. Prices are fair, especially growler fills! Their candy bar milk stout and the imperial IPA and some of the best beers I have ever had in my life. Anytime I see them on tap, I am on the way!

Visited the brewery for lunch and enjoyed some of their wood oven baked pizza. It was amazing! I tried a flight of their current beers on tap and walked away with a growler of the seasonal Candy Bar Milk Stout. It was like drinking a candy bar though I can't decide which one it tasted the most like. The place is clean and the smell of hops hits you the moment you walk in the door. The service was great and the people were friendly. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and especially if you like pizza.

Visited here last night with Da Boss and some friends.

Atmosphere was nothing special. As you walk in to the smaller brewpub there were maybe 20 wooden tables and the main bar that had 10-12 seats. The 7 barrel system was visible from the dining room and the brick oven was in the rear of the restaurant.

Quality of the beer was very good. My friends and I had the IPA and Double Oatmeal IPA which were delicious and oh so fresh. Da Boss had the Irish Red which was good for her palette.

Service was good. It was pretty crowded at 4:30 in the afternoon when we arrived and both the brews and food were served very timely.

Selection of brews was OK. There was 6 house beers and i believe 6 guest beers.

The food, which is primarily pizza, was very good. Thin crust 11 inch pizzas came out nice and crispy. Of the two we shared the fennel sausage was the favorite. The roasted garlic was decent but nothing too exciting.

Glad we went out of our way for this place. Nothing shines like a well made draft IPA. Check it out if you are in Scottsdale.

A unique tiny brewery; much respect for having at least five handles for such a small joint, unfortunately I thought their guest list was stronger than their own list. Their Imperial IPA was not worthy of such a title and after tasting several other beers I quickly moved to the guest list and stayed there. There brick oven pizza was superb and worth going for, however just some above average local brew with a good guest list.

Small brew pub, nice decor and a small patio. Located in a small strip mall. Food is the best thing here with pizzas being the specialty. Beers are hit or miss. Sometimes they are great and other times thin and watery. A great addition to that part of Scottsdale. The owner is a really nice guy. Ask if he is around and he'll give you a short tour.

Tried the "Black IPA", and it was different! Not what I was expecting, but I have had a lot of IPA's... but not a lot of black ones. So, I can only tell you how it tasted to me and what kind of hop flavors came through.

Up front was the piney aroma of Simcoe hops, the mouth feel was a lot of roast, mainly coffee notes, the aftertaste had a different hop character .... earthy, musty, dank ....maybe Mosaic hops ...not sure. I did not personal care for the aftertaste, in the end the combination of those flavors was like drinking the flavor of a burned down house. But don't get me wrong, I did drink it all and can honestly say it was not ....bad, but one was enough.

At the time of my visit they offered ales only (their ales), alongside a nice but short list of guest taps. I found their beers fresh, somewhat flavorful for their styles, but nothing that really made me want to come back for more of the same. I'll try their newer offerings and continue to see where they go, because their first few batches sufficiently caught my interest. Also they had very few house beers to choose from relative to the norm for brewpubs out there today.

Pizza was above average for brewpub food. Service was impeccably good on my visit. Atmosphere is modern and somewhat industrial-looking to me, in a very good way. Plenty of parking in the back.

Lot of potential. Wish they did lagers and had some German or Belgian styles of house brews.
