11.2oz bottle, bottled on 10.03.15, and poured into a bulbous pint glass. Hazy dark brown body floats virtually no head.
Toasted malt aromas are joined by hints of cocoa and stone fruit.
Sweet malt tastes match the aroma nicely. Mouthfeel is rich an creamy but not heavy.
Overall it excites me. More please.

Hirter Morchl brewed by Brauerei Hirt GmbH, with an ABV of 5.00% This brew pours out deep brown color with a nice off white head. This brew has the look of root beer, now I'm not saying that is a bad thing. The smell of Hirter Morchl is rich with roasted grains and malts. There is also a nice sweetness to the smell of this brew. There is also has a hit of hops in the smell of this brew. The look and smell of Hirter Morchl is really inviting. I really like the is brew so far. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavors. You pick up on roasted grains, malts and a hit of hops. Everything about this brew is well balanced. I can't get over how smooth and refreshing this brew is. Hirter Morchl, has a nice balance to it, there is nothing overpowering about this brew. The mouthfeel is rich, bold, smooth, clean, and refreshing. Overall I'm giving Hirter Morchl a 4 .25 out of 5. I would buy this brew again. Brauerei Hirt GmbH, did a nice job with this brew.

Hirter Morchl | Brauerei Hirt GmbH. Oured from the bottle into a pint glass, this brew's head is two fingers thick and tan, with lateral lacing, and a very dark brown body.

Smells like roasted/caramelized malts with full-bodied grains.

I taste a blend of roasted, very slight caramel, and biscuit malts. This flavor is actually quite reminiscent of an Irish red ale. Nothing here is offensive or overpowering. Just a nice, full-bodied dark lager, nearly red ale

The mouthfeel here is smooth and clean.

I'll choose to rate Hirter Morchl | Brauerei Hirt GmbH with an overall 4.5. I may or may not pick this up again.

This is so underrated it's appalling. One of the best examples of the style I have ever had, especially on tap, it's just fantastic. Rich and dark with a crimson hue and a huge grey brown head that lasts forever leaving fine lacing as I drink it down abruptly. Nose and taste of old world roasted malt and dry cocoa notes mixing with a timeless lager strain. I thought I had seen the final evolution if the style but this goes beyond that. The milkshake dry textured grain is like nothing else, and there is a lot going on here, almost birch wood mellowness late, and a smooth factor like will smith in hitch. Why this is so uncommon in the states I have no idea, but it's near perfect. Wouldn't change a thing, truly sensational. One of the very best in its style on the planet, and on tap in an Austrian dungeon it's very rad!!!
