Better than some other hemp beers, but it just doesn't cut it for me. Pours with a clear very pale yellow color, with almost no head to speak of. Aroma is basically just grass, not much there. The taste is what I didn't like - no flavour at all, just some grass left in water. It could be drinkable, but no taste there really.

Best by date 07.2009, so with a 6 month hold date, this bottle is presumed to be very fresh.

I've never seen this before and I drink a lot of Hirter.

Anyways, everything about this beer is thin. Color is overly pale in comparison to other Austrian Maerzens but maintains a golden color of sorts. Foam is like that cool guy who mistakenly shows up at an chess club meeting. He make a presence initially, then realizes where he is at. Feeling out of place, he runs for the door never to be seen at said place again. In other words, there's no lace retention despite a boisterous initial foaming.

Jeez, didn't all the stoners foam at the mouth in the 50s cult classic, Refer Madness???

Aroma is grainy and grass and not the good kind dominate. Flavor is light, thin, and quaff able...probably the ultimate hippie college party taste. Hirter should consider importing to the states this time and just concentrate on Vermont. Theyll buy it because its Bio Hemp. But then again, thats why I bought it as well, though I cant say I ever will again.

Not representative of Hirter which is otherwise a solid brewery despite their ranking here on BA.
