Poured into a mug, the appearance was a fairly dark brown almost black color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Lace tries to stick but slides for the most part. The aroma had a nice blend of sweet milk and dark chocolate malts, straight up front with a nice creamy sort of lactose thing going on. Hints of maltballs in the background. The flavor is totally straight up pure sweet taking the milk chocolate to the dark chocolate and really letting the lactose continue on in it’s sweetness. Super sweet chocolate aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sipping quality about it due to the sweetness of this beer. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good as the brewer projected. Overall, sweet stout, damn right it is and I might as well take an insulin shot after drinking this. And I thought Southern Tier’s mocha stout was excessively sweet, wouldn’t mind a taste test between that and this if I ever tried this one again.

A delicious brew for the fall time with characteristic notes of roasted malts and semi-sweet chocolate. This is a nice cool weather sipper, or if you are someone like a me, a good year round offering.

Oddly, as a devout citizen of this great granite state, I regularly pass by this offering. Well, that was a mistake. This seems more a milk stout (my favorite style) than irish dry. Pours very dark with thin, disappearing tan foam. Aroma is nearly perfect to me, with big notes of chocolate and lactose sweetness amongst the roast. I say almost, because at only 8%, there is some alcohol in the nose. Flavors follow similarly - my preferred style leaning toward the sweetness. Very smooth mouthfeel, and pleasant finish. Excellent stuff.

Nice easy to get stout. Pretty sure the price was nice too. Bomber format picked up from trip to get ne hops.
Pours dark with nice head and nice lacing. Smells of coffee, chocolate, and maybe some milk sugars(nailed it. Read the bottle and this is brewed with lactose).
Flavor is pretty good. Very chocolate forward. Fudgy. Bitterness is good too. Nice easy drinker.

On tap at The Green Elephant. Dark black, no head.
Chocolate/roasted malt aroma.
The taste expanded greatly on the aroma. Chocolate, tobacco, a little coffee.
Medium-bodied, creamy smooth.
