One look at the color and thought I'd be drinking some wine coolers. To my surprise I was completely wrong. 2015 release exceeds the previous . well balanced fruitiness without being sickly sweet. Great for those hot summer days we are all waiting for

from a can to a beer teku
look; opaque, somewhere between pink grapefruit and frozen strawberry margarita in color, nice tight white head that stays for about 2 minutes, no lacing or covering,
smell; not much, hint of raspberries, hint of yeast
taste; raspberry, but more sour from lemongrass than tart, not too sweet but not dry
feel; crisp, light, a bite from the carbonation, which i think goes with this beer, refreshing
overall; a nice refreshing raspberry beer soda

Rose-colored. Tiny, quickly disappearing, white head.
Sweet fruit aroma, faint. A hint of citrus.
Raspberry taste, still on the subtle side. A little lemon.
Just not that good a beer.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, moderate carbonation, red-brown in color, hazy

Smell: raspberries and fresh garden

Taste: raspberries, blackberries, and sour tartness

Mouthfeel: sweet and sour, light in body, prickly medium-high carbonation

Overall: I will give Two Roads credit. Most of the non-Belgian raspberry beers I have had tend to be lagers with raspberry syrup. This one is more tart. Nice summer brew. I had this on tap fresh at the brewery and had saved a couple bottles for a few months. I do like this with a bit of age a bit better as I think the flavors meld better. That said, I enjoyed this and will pick up more.

Had on tap at Prime 16. Was looking like a delicious beer for the warm days. Poured a lovely pink color with effervescent bubbles. Smelled like some sweet fruit, very juicy. Taste was mediocre, a quick blast of sweet and sour raspberry that was too sweet followed by an abrasive grain bill. Was quick and clean, but not desirable.

Poured on tap at Mew's Tavern in Rhode Island. Nice red hue with white head. Easily the best part of this beer. Faint smell of raspberries and citrus. Taste could be great but seems lacking. Very easy-drinking though.

DATE: July 6, 2016... OCCASION: a hot afternoon in need of a chill....GLASSWARE: Weihenstephan weizen... pours an opaque, ruby/purplish red that shows slight bubbles streaming upwards... a single finger of pure white head settles, with lily pad clusters on the surface... raspberries struggle with yeasty astringency for dominance; faint citrus suggests lemon or orange--not really engaging... lively and bubbly, while light and refreshing--a pleasure on a hot evening such as this... tart, almost sour to the point of puckering the lips; the raspberries and blueberries are big like a lambic, but the lemon and wheat cut the profile into a sessionable--though burp-inducing-- appertif... at 5% ABV, a nice evening starter that fits a certain atmosphere... not the best or worst of the tart, berried beers available, but its softness invites more sips than others, and the drinkability is winning... thus, the sum of this beer is greater than its parts...

Two Roads Brewing Co. "Road Jam"
12 oz. brown glass bottle, "BTLD 04/20/15 18:37"
$1.92 @ Weis Market, Conshohocken, PA

There's nothing really new here as raspberry wheat beers made with real fruit have been popular since the early nineties. It's solidly made though, and well balanced. I'm not sure what the lemon grass is contributing, but I get the sense that it's helping to balance it alongside the modest bitterness. The berry flavor is fuller in the flavor than it is in the nose, and it's quite pleasant. A solid offering.

L: Hazy, dark pink with a thin white head. Decent retention, and a bit of lacing.

S: Fresh, tart raspberries; raspberry seeds; Haribo Raspberry Gummi candy, and just the faintest touch of lemongrass.

T: Lots of fresh raspberries upfront, the seeds, a bit of tartness, then it dries out to a quick flash of biscuit malt. There's a little bit of lemongrass sourness and spice on the finish, along with a mineral water character.

F: Medium-light bodied, but steady carbonation. Drinks easily with a balanced finish; not too sweet, nor too dry.

O: A solid raspberry beer. Stands up to competitors like Founders Rubaeus and Samuel Smith's Organic Raspberry Ale.

On tap at Hinesburg public house. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a dark pink close to red color with no head nor lacing. The smell started off with a sharp raspberry and gets slightly tart as it warms up. The taste was moderately sweet carrying a light tanginess to carry into the aftertaste. There’s no finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt right as a raspberry ale allowing some sweet fruit to roll slightly dry over my tongue. Overall, I say this was a decent fruit beer or APWA, whatever it's supposed to be. Raspberry is there and seems authentic.
