A limited-release unfiltered Uber wheat ale, brewed with Bergamot oarnge peels for a big citrus kick. Although the Bergamot oarnge is not edible, it's essence, used to flavor many teas and marmalade, has been in demand for thousands of years. Made using raw wheat and a combination of the New & Old World hops, our Road Less Traveled wheat ale is monstrously good!

Pours to a bright golden orange color that's cloudy, with a head that disappears quickly and no lacing to speak of. Smooth wheat beer flavor with a pleasant kick from the Bergamot oranges. A nice Summer brew!

A: hazy pale orange color with some lighter yellow colors as well. Off-white thin head
S: pear, coriander, wheat, lemongrass, orange, crackers, and lemon
T: follows the nose. Lemongrass, wheat, and coriander upfront. Green pears and cracker follow that. Of touch of pepper spice in the yeast as well as some clove
M: lighter side of medium with mid carbonation
O: not a bad Wit here. It has a nice yeast spice and is nice

Pours a pale yellow with a thick foamy head. Smells like a summer day. An excellent Belgian wheat. A nice citrusy orange flavor with a spicy finish. Very refreshing. A perfect hot summer brew.

I bought a can of this yesterday (dated 3/8/18) and found it acceptable, but not remarkable. None of the the flavors really jumped out at me (and I love bergamot), and the 6.4% alcohol seemed like more of a negative than positive for a summer season beer. Maybe a fresher can would taste better. On the plus side, it was an easy-drinker and I would accept one on a hot day.

I figured I'd give this a try since I'm a fan of Earl Grey tea, which also contains bergamot. I thought it was a winner. The taste is unusual and it'll never become a regular pour for me, but I've enjoyed it several times.

A- Can into a large tulip with a slightly hazy medium golden body and a thick, creamy white head. The cap ascends up to a finger high with very good retention. Eventually a fairly wide belt at the edges leaves spotty lacing.
S- Somewhat reminiscent of a Witbier and/or a Hefe with a blend of spices, sweetness, raw whole grains and a mix of esters and phenolics from the ferment. Specific notes that come to mind are coriander, mild peppercorns, orange zest, vanilla sweets, banana, lemon peel and cereal.
T- Again, Witbier comes to mind with the spices and zest right up front in the flavor profile with a strong yeast and grain presence. Bergamot (earl grey) zest, vanilla sweets, banana and clove make way for coriander, pepper, pear, wheat bread, cereal and a general Belgian yeast spiciness.
MF- A medium body considering the flavors with a very silky and smooth fluffy texture. A moderate level of carbonation with a general citrus zest/yeast spice bitterness gripping the taste buds in the finish.
Basically a Witbier with a more earl grey type bergamot zestiness than the ones generally made with zest from oranges. This zest does not dominate but finds harmony with yeast spice, coriander/pepper notes, whole grains and some fruity esters/phenolics from the yeast. Everything seems bold so in the end it is nicely balanced.

I drank this thinking it was a (very muted) sour beer due to the menu at the place I had it.
Slightly cloudy, golden. Small white head with retention.
Gently lemon and slightly sour. Generally muted aroma.
Muted slightly sour flavor, on the bland side. Gentle lactic sourness. Balanced clean but somewhat sweet finish.
Light body, Medium high carbonation.
Good palate cleanser beer, but too bland and not very sour.
