This is an unfiltered lager beer made in the traditional manner using German malts and hops that is fermented slow and cold and appropriately aged, not rushed, for an ultra-clean character. The beer is made using a decoction method of brewing, which dates back hundred of years to Germany. This process takes longer to complete but results in more complex beers from the slight caramelization of malt.
Crisp and smooth with a toasty malt backdrop, refined herbal hop notes and the fresh unfiltered presence of pure lager yeast. Unfiltered lagers leave the proteins and yeast suspended in the beer rather than filtering them out. Many people believe that leaving these attributes contribute to a more full-flavored and complex brew. Our unfiltered lager is crisp and smooth with a toasty malt backdrop and refined herbal hop notes.

I used to be grossed out by beer. Then I got got used to it. Then at my sisters boyfriends he gave me one of these and I forced myself to drink it. Then I realized beer is delicious

Light gold and hazy, I could barely smell anything but I kind of picked up on a little pineapple, taste is good a little sweetness with toasty flavor

Cloudy orange gold . Medium light carbonation close to medium body with a bit of an almost oily feel.
Aroma is orange, orange peel, raw yeasty bread dough. Plenty of grain, malt, whole wheat flour .
Taste isn't as complex as the aroma but still packed with a lot of flavor . The grain, dry cracker tastes lingers a bit and leaves a sourdough aftertaste . The orange peel that was strong in the aroma is more subdued but does create an interesting balance to the yeasty malty, grain bread like flavor.
I thought it was interesting and very flavorful, would try it again

Light fizzy head fades semi quickly, a touch of lacing if that, a very hazy almost murky tan orange color
Nose brings bready doughy malts, not really lager malts more like a saison style malt profile, raw bread dough, yeast, citrus and a bit of phenol spice I think, a bit of straw like pilsner later
Taste brings more doughy malt raw bread dough, creamy, with fruity esters, citrus, banana I think, mild spices, coriander perhaps, dried orange peel, etc, a bit of bitterness, touch of grassy hop and citrus, biscuity dough, little yeasty, no lager characters, very creamy wheat like. Finishes drier mild bitterness and orange zest
Mouth is med to lighter bod, creamy, not crisp or lager feeling at all.
Overall this was a lot more like a hefe/saison style beer, nothing like a lager, and was not well executed or even a good recipe I think. THis is a rare big swing and miss for Two Roads. However, this is still a decent summer like beer.
