Pours clear copper with a whispy dish soapy head that leaves a dribble of lace trails behind. Pine sap, grapefruit, pineapple, caramel cake in the aroma. A brash hoppiness in the first sip - pinneapple, white grapefruit, herbal. A warming booziness follows suit, as does a butterscotch, toasted caramel maltiness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Moderate bitterness and some alcohol heat in the finish.

A decent DPA, but could use a bit more hop aroma and flavor and a bit less booziness. Still worth a try.

Purchased at Staten Is. Poured into a 16 oz. glass. Hazy with a thin head that disappeared quickly. Smell: some citrus and pine accent. taste: Malty with a nice kick of hops on the end!
GLAD I tried it! A GREAT DIPA!

Pretty good DIPA. Pours a slightly hazy golden/light amber color with a medium size foamy white head. Good retention and foamy bands of lacing on the glass. Mild hoppy aroma. Taste is a slightly citrusy hoppiness wih some dry biscuity malt. Nothing memorable but still pretty good. Mouthfeel is nicely balanced with a decent level of hoppiness. Not great but well worth a try.

Pale gold color with a half-inch head. Mango, grapefruit, and sugar aromas, but not all that strong. Nice tropical fruit and citrus combo (pineapple, grapefruit, orange rind), with a light sweetness coming through from the malts, like a British biscuit. There's some hop bitterness but no more than your average IPA. Mouthfeel is intriguing--slightly chewy, but not thick or juicy. Nice dry finish.

I was curious to try this Double IPA because of the light malt backbone, hoping for some extreme hop action, but with the hops lacking zing, I missed the malts after all. An enjoyable brew, but not nearly as tasty as their Two Juicy NE IPA. (Bring back the Two Juicy!)

Gold. Little head with ok retention. Lacing is good.
Lots of red grapefruit aroma. Bit of pine. Nothing too special
Again, red grapefruit and some pine in flavor. Touch of malt sweetness
Very drinkable for a DIPA!
As much as I enjoy this as a drinkable beer, it's pretty meh for the style.

12 oz can poured into a classic Spiegelau IPA glass.

A clear golden color with raw honey hues. A creamy-white foam stands tall. Clumpy, rocky and smooth. Slooow dissipation. Sparse, but sticky circular clumps of lace are leftover.

A densly sweet tropical and citrus fruity aroma pops out of the glass, honey and caramel from the bright malt kick. Fresh mango and pine tree sap brings furthur hoppy aromatics.

Mouthfeel comes across as a bit cloying, malty slick for the style. There is a decent dry bite, followed by a mellow malty thing, juicy and then a bitter, dry finish.

I really like the dry, bitter, earthy hop flavor that hits you right off. High toned bitterness, earthy, grapefruit, grainy malt and orange peel. Lots of unsweetened grapefruit and orange rind pops out from these hops. The 8% abv. Is very well hidden, with only a slight hint of heat mixed in with hoppy bitter effects.

A light malted Dipa with more hoppy bitterness than most of the New England Style's offer. A bit low in complexity compared to the aforementioned style winners, but certainly worth a quick ride.
