Style: Hefeweizen

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Brewmaster Phil Markowski has taken a “bahn” less traveled to create our version of the classic Bavarian wheat brew –perfect for the warming temperatures. Beautifully cloudy with a generous head of foam, a wonderful fruit aroma and a dry finish, our Hefeweizen is a refreshing version of the original; with just a little bit more of everything.

12 oz can, pkg 7/26/17. Pours hazy dark yellow with a medium fizzy white head that retains fairly well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is earthy soapy wheat malt with some banana and clove.

The flavor is sweet wheat malt with a little fruit and an earthy banana and clove finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low spritzy carbonation.

Overall, not my favorite.

Thin. Drinks more like a kellerweiss. Banana ester emphasis.

Pours a hazy yellow with a head that vanishes in no time. The scent is a balance of citrus, hops and starch. The taste is similar to the scent, with added bready malt tones. This beer sits rather heavy in the stomach - just a few is sufficient.

This was just an OK hefeweissen. It fulfills the aroma and taste requirements: banana and clove. I didn't get really any head on it, even with a vigorous pour. There's a hint of spice in the mouthfeel, which I assume is the rye.

This was poured into a weizen glass. The appearance was the normal cloudy ruddy yellow color with a two finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice slow pace. Light lacing glossed around the sides nicely. The smell took in the normal qualities of a hefeweizen ie, sweet banana, light clove, light bubblegum combine nicely. The taste rolled the previously mentioned flavors together tightly. The clove does seem to hit a bit more in the flavor than the bubblegum and banana, but I like it. Sweet banana aftertaste. Light sweet to semi-spicy finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a great sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light and the clove hit nicely on my tongue. Overall, good job Two Roads for making a nice hefeweizen that I know I’ll be grabbing again this Summer.
