OUR BIGGEST BEER TO DATE, created in the great magnetic field. Super complex richness of mega-chocolate, roast, vanilla and coffee in an astonishingly smooth monster of a brew.

Had a bottle from Ma and Pa’s in Alton, NY... poured a beautiful black as sin beer with a fluffy rich mocha head. Only lasted a moment after first sip but generous lace.
I left out to warm a bit and complexity was all around. Nose had more dark dried fruit than I expected. Really good but not really the malt or roast I’d place with a stout. Flavor was more Imp Stout like... roastiness and vanilla bitterness came through with some dark chocolate. Rich full flavored but molasses and fig fruit still dominant. Some astringency in after taste.
Feel was so in my wheelhouse... full and chewy. Velvet going down.
All in all an interesting and very good brew. Then consider a very approachable price point. Would recommend this beer and these brewers without hesitation. Already like their Fullstack DIPA. Will definitely be looking at whatever these guys come out with.

Undated bottle, but I believe this is from 2016 or 2017. Served at 50 degrees.

Appearance is typical brown / black, but with plenty of light brown head that receded to a nice cap / ring. Aroma is chocolate and light roast. Slightly sweeter than expected. Roast is more prominent on the nose. There's not a ton of complexity to the beer, but I suspect any of those nuances have been diminished by the time on the cellar shelf. As it stands, it's a solid stout that's still worth drinking.

Into a clear glass liter mug all the contents of a pint can went. Fitting it all in is no problem, as there's very little tan head. That's fairly common when a brew has an ABV up in this range. The liquid is black coffee brown, just a tad duller. A splendid aroma comprised of its four major taste ingredients is to be had. The first taste sensation is that it's sweet and that never leaves. Even when the roasted aspect of the malt kicks in, it's sweet. This is mitigated by its richness, as both the chocolate and vanilla are obvious. Noteworthy is the secondary role the coffee contributes. In many stouts with it, coffee dominates the additional flavors, but not here. But, it certainly does add another delightful layer to drinking this. This is so flavorful, rich and smooth, few would guess that it carries an ABV of 11.2 percent. A borderline desert beer, it's actually much better than that label. In short, this is a great flavored stout. There's almost no glass lacing, but this one needs no side show.

Canned 10/10/2019
Look: Dark chocolatey brown with a very small cream colored head.
Smell: Vanilla and cream.
Taste: Creamy cocoa vanilla; full bodied and rich!
Feel: Super creamy and full mouth.
Overall: Fantastic! The word I keep using is cream/creamy as that would be the defining characteristic of this beer if I had to choose one. Each sip leaves you wanting more.

Such rich, rich sticky stouty decadence. Subtly sweetness of bitter bakers chocolate and mild booze. Almost three years old and it’s held up beautifully.

Wow.

One of the absolutely best beers I have ever had. Seemed perfect in every way.

Looks incredible, gorgeous dark color, beautiful head.

Taste was smooth and just plain delicious.

Not bitter at all for the style.

Update 7/25/25 - had a can, not sure if it is exactly the same as previous, but was definitely not as good. Nothing special. Still have an older bottle away...Will have to see.

I have had and enjoy most of Singlecut’s IPAs so I thought I should give a stout a try.

Pours a thin dark brown with almost zero head. A small white cap is left on the top.

Smells of cocoa, vanilla and faint char.

Taste follows with a decent amount of cocoa and vanilla.

This is were this beer absolutely fell apart for me. This is as watery as a Pilsner. The carbonation is very lite as well. The combo of thin and flat doesn’t work. Very disappointing.

I will give this another shot as the other reviews indicate I got a bad beer/batch. I can’t remember ever having an Imperial Stout that was so thin in body. Pass for now.

Finally was able to track this down at a ridiculously cheap price and it was worth it and should have got more! Tons of cocoa nibs, chocolate and vanilla flavor with a smooth easy going malt body that hides it's massive 11% Abv. Really worth the price at few bucks and could see buying pounders of the stuff at around 5 bucks maybe more!

Good head production from a careful pour; excellent retention for the sky-high ABV.

Super sweet aroma, swimming in chocolate and vanilla. Coffee, brown sugar, molasses, caramel, and toast from the malt base linger in the background, but this is really all about the cacao and vanilla additives.

More bitter than expected, whether from the roast, hops, or even the chocolate itself. Still focused on chocolate and vanilla, with molasses, nuts, and brown sugar tones, along with sweet red grape and a hint of banana. It's not unlike a chocolate-covered nut.

Smooth, rich, creamy, thick. Easy to drink, but at 11.2% ABV, easy for the effects to sneak up on you.
