Notes: THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTNING! This IPA is created with new-age PNW hop varieties as well as a bit of NZ too. Soft, creamy mouthfeel with light malt support. Then we add even more rhapsody with a second mondo dry-hop. Bright citrus, stone fruit and mild resin combine for a uniquely satisfying experience.

Pours an opaque orange with a finger of white foam. It may have been more, but the focus was clearly "boss pour" at the bar. Aroma is orange, tangerine, mango, papaya, and orange creating a tropical fruit smoothie. Flavor profile is nectarine, tangerine, lemon, orange and mandarin orange. It has a dense, pulpy taste with loads of tropical fruits that fades out at the end of the track, repeating the same tropical fruit loop. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a pillowy, moderately-soft texture that carries very little pulp. Overall, big tropical fruits and citrus with the texture to match.

Draft.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.

Listening to Queen or just savoring each sip of the April 12th, 2016 bottling of this magnificent IPA from Queens.

Mama, ooh, didn't mean to make you cry, but if can't find another bottle, carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.

I can't believe how amazing this beer is. How can Singlecut be so good. The details separate good from great and this is great.

Fruity juiciness popping out in some crazy new direction so different from Bon Bon or the Billy's. Feels and tastes like orange, ruby grapefruit, mango, and peach juice all in one.

Nothing really matters, any one can see. Singlecut is the brewery that seems was just made for me.

Anyway the wind blows.

On tap at The Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a slightly hazy, mostly clear orange-ish color, with a half inch head, and a ton of lacing.

This one smells like peach, orange, grapes, marijuana, and lots of pine.

This is my first go-round with Kohatu hops, and they seem to be really nice. There are other hops in here, for dry hopping purposes, so I don't know exactly what the Kohatu hops actually present here. I do get some passionfruit, peach, orange, grapefruit, and grapes, with a big dank component, tons of weed and some dirty pine. All the flavors I want really in an IPA.

This is medium bodied, with a super juicy and crisp mouthfeel, and a high level of drinkability.

Another excellent effort here from Singlecut, they continue to crank out really high quality IPAs.

This one was another sixteen ounce growler/mason jar purchase from Vista Beer and Beverage in South Salem, NY.

The beer's appearance in the jar is a very hazy yellow-orange color with some pleasant luminosity. The pour yields a bit of a paler and yellower hue that settles with medium carbonation and about a finger of pale white head.

My god, the nose is simply incredible! This very well may be the greatest smelling IPA I've ever had. Very intense peach and grapefruit aromas up front mix with just the right amount of piney bitterness and just a hint of musty vegetation. No alcohol at all is discernible.

After the nose, the taste is a bit of a disappointment, but it's still quite tasty. It's not nearly as vibrant as I expected given the intense nose - the beer is bitter grapefruit forward with some hints of oranges and peaches. Could drink this all day.

The mouthfeel is moderately thick, especially for a single IPA. Very smooth and creamy but there's plenty of carbonation and some prickly bitterness poking through and making themselves apparent. The finish is semi-dry and bitter with a pleasantly lingering aftertaste.

This is my first beer from Singlecut, and I have to say I'm quite impressed. While the taste doesn't match up to the nose in my opinion, it's still delicious and an overall excellent and refreshing drinking experience. I could pretty easily put this up in my top 10 single IPA's after one sixteen ounce serving along the likes of Lunch, Union Jack, Sculpin, Alesmith IPA, and Barrier's Money. Love seeing these newer breweries like Singlecut, Other Half, and Grimm really take off in the NY area.

L: Pours a mostly turbid muted golden hay color with an ample fluffy head and small specks of suspended sediment in the beer. Decent head retention for awhile, with some pretty lacing all around the glass.

S: Juicy and fruit forward, with lots of bright citrus and peaches. Some white grapes and grass, with a mild savory character.

T: Lots of white wine character, with some sweet tangerine-like citrus and grassy hoppiness. There’s a nice puckering fruity acidity that cuts through all else. Semi-dry, with a little bit of bread-crust maltiness. There’s a little more of a perceptible bitterness in the finish than with most of the other beers I’ve had from SingleCut, with citrus rind and some mild grassy herbal flavors.

F: Medium-body with a surprisingly low level of carbonation. Could use some tweaking to bring the carbonation up.

Thoughts: Another quality IPA from SingleCut. Not quite on par with Mo’ Shuggie despite the same abv and similar flavor profile, but they can’t all be on that level. I would have liked there to be more carbonation but that wasn’t a deal-breaker. For what it’s worth, it’s delightful finding this at my nondescript local grocery store only 9 days after it was bottled.

A: Poured from the growler into a Duvel tulip. Body is hazy golden-orange with a 2-finger foamy white head that retains well and leaves good splotches of foamy lace.

S: Ahh, yes. This is an old-school American IPA nose - loads of citrus, plenty of pine and a touch of stone fruit (think apricot). Also a hint of herbal spice. Very, very nice.

T: Begins with modest honey-type malt, but then juicy, citrusy hops take over. Not a frontal hop assault but rather a slow building of pillowy citrus - grapefruit and clementine orange and citrus peel - and apricot. Finishes with a nice, soft, lingering grapefruit bitterness that coats the palate but doesn't seem to destroy it. Relatively high ABV (7.2%) is felt as heat in the belly, but not noted at all on the palate. Tremendous overall balance and a subtle approach to loads of hops - I know that doesn't make sense, but it will once you've had this beer.

M: Surprisingly smooth and creamy given that huge billowy head - which I thought would have portended a sharper, active carbonation and bite. Medium in heft.

O: Awesome. Excellent. Easily the best "new" American IPA I've tried in a while. I'd put this up against the big boys from Vermont any day. I'm very happy that I've got a full growler on this Friday night....

16.9 oz. bottle dated 4/12

Pours a hazy bright golden yellow with a dense creamy white foam head. Smells like peach, candied citrus, mild caramel, passionfruit, mango, grape, guava, pineapple, papaya, with dank pine and fresh earthy grass. Tastes like mango, candied citrus, passionfruit, guava, white grape, fresh bitter citrus rind, papaya, pineapple, mild biscuit grain, with fresh pine and earthy grass. Feels medium bodied, creamy with low carbonation. Overall a real nice and well-crafted IPA.

poured from the bottle dated as only 9 days old into a hill farmstead wine glass. The body is a beautiful peachy orange haze with a white head that fades but leaves great lacing.
on the nose, grapefruit citrus is predominant, some orange peel, day-old bread, play a part in the aroma. some grassy notes and pine also present. As for the taste, the beer has some melon in addition to the elements from the nose. it's quite well balanced.
It's juic, but the 122IBU doesn't go unnoticed, as the bitterness is there to balance is out. very nice mouthfeel, fresh tasting, good carbonation.
love singlecut IPAs. is this my favorite? no. but still a great offering.

Pours golden yellow and very hazy. Good head retention and leaves a good amount of lace on the glass. Smell is of fresh tropical fruits; a bit on the subdued side but delicious none the less.

Tastes is similar to the aroma, fresh fruits and pine. Nice medium bodied mouthfeel. The taste doesn't linger but vanishes rather quickly.

Overall an excellent IPA and one I could drink all day.
