SOME CAT FROM JAPAN suggested we do an IPA that is J-U-I-C-Y. So we packed up a pack horse and made it happen! Soft doughy and slightly tangy malt lies under bright citrus, round tropical fruit and mild pine resin hop aromatics that underscore the waves of flavors to come.

Its a decent NEIPA but this one borders on too much orange for me, good for one but I prefer the standard NEIPA profile.

It’s good. I do not mean any disrespect to this community or the site itself, but I know what I like and don’t. I do not have a refined palette nor the expertise that some folks here have. It’s good beer. I personally have no clue why or what you need to know about the “feel”. It’s all a little pretentious.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is straw gold and light haziness, head is off white and presents 1 finger thick, then dissipates to solid top and some lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is light citrus, light mixed tropicals, some bread and biscuit.

Taste is similar with a light citrus start, maybe lean to orange, then some tropical fruit but nothing definitive, then some malt notes of bread and biscuit. Not an emphatic flavor or aroma.

Mouthfeel is lower carbonation, moderate sweetness and slightly full feel, moderate bitterness.

Overall subdued DDHIPA - aroma not bursting forth and flavor seems more neutral to the style. Still very drinkable and pleasant.

I don't see any date on the can or label.

Appearance: The body is a light gold-beige color with a lot of haze, but it is still easy to see through the glass and even read text. The head is very large, white, and foamy. It has very good retention and lacing.

Aroma: There is a light aroma of wild flower with a hint of what smells like mint and a touch of orange that pops in from time to time. Mostly it has this floral scent which is nice.

Taste: Up front there is this caramel and malt flavor. As it moves to the center of the tongue there is some crushed grain character and this dusty old chocolate character. The back of the tongue has a light herbal character. Aftertaste is bitter herbs and a hint of mint.

Mouthfeel: It is lighter bodied with a medium to medium-low herbal bitterness depending on the sip. It's easy to drink but the bitterness stands out quite a bit.

Overall: The label states that this is a "DOUBLE DRY-HOPPED IPA" but it doesn't really seem to exude a lot of aroma or flavor that typically comes from a beer that is dry hopped. The floral and herbal characters are alright but as a whole it tastes fairly muddled and feels like an average attempt at a New England Style IPA. It isn't a beer I would likely buy again and it isn't one I'd readily recommend but it's decent enough that I could drink it if somebody handed me one.

Can dated 11/22/21 into pint glass. Pours a very hazy medium gold with a persistent off-white head. Good lacing. Initial impression is orange, mango, a hint of pine, and floral notes. Mouthfeel is soft yet clean. Finish is fruity with low residual bitterness. Overall, not my favorite NEIPA but certainly an enjoyable one.

16oz can.
L: Hazy, dull orange with a thin cap that leaves sheets of lacing.
S: Leafy, herbal, wet cardboard aroma.
T: Overripe mango & orange, pine and parsley. Slightly dank with moderate bitterness.
F: Medium body with a touch of slick and a keen, bitter edge.
O: An earthy example of the style. Good stuff.

Not too sweet but a pleasant yet subtle sweetness on the after taste. Highly recommend
