AIN’T HE? Backing that up is a smooth easy drinking IPA that is all tropical citrus that is in the pocket anytime.
This 6% IPA has quickly become an SC standard – hazy and soft, but drier and more expressive than most NE IPAs. Built on a new favorite hop blend from Oregon and Washington, lots of dry pineapple, pomelo, limón, and a clean and crisp finish. We love IPA, even in the NYC summer heat- this is the answer to all our questions. AIN’T ‘E?

16oz can dated 6/25/19.
Pours cloudy gold with a short-lived head of white and minimal retention. Candied peach, pineapple and orange in the nose. Medium bodied with a thinnish mouthfeel. Grapefruit with pine on the palate with some light malt on the palate. Finishes with some decent bitterness and lingering citrus.

A - Opaque medium golden tan color with moderate white dense lacing.
S - Citrus and some resiny grapefruit.
T - Bright citrus and grapefruit up front while finishing with some pithy grapefruit bitterness which eventuaslly morphs into a slightly cloying, sugary fruitiness with a little bit of cardboard presence.
M - Medium body that's watery around the edges.
O - Decent, not memorable.

On tap in a stemmed tulip glass.
Unfiltered yellow cloud of juice, pineapple-grapefruit mix. A 1f white foam tops it and leaves sticky lacing.
Heavy on the tropics with a bit of citrus. Pineapple, mango, and some lemon. Not sweet or boozy so there’s some malt in the back.
Pineapple, mango, berry, citrus, squeezed juices.
Medium bodied, a bit juicy. Not sweet, finishes clean with hop and citrus juice bitterness.
Cleaner and less juice-like than many neipas, to my liking.

16 oz can from Evan, no date that I can read. Into Goose Island Nonic Pint.
Wonderful pale juice straight into the glass. A loosely-knit bubbly head of 1 finger starts this off, receding to 1/2 finger and leaving webs of lace and alcohol legs as well.
Holy mango, batman. This aroma just explodes with mango, strawberry, and honeydew. Has hints of cannabis in the background. Yes, this is what I like.
Flavor brings the rinds of all the fruits above. It's still juicy and fruity though. It's smooth all the way through; and has this wonderful juicy-acidic quality to it that I like all my IPAs to have. So to recap - mango skin, strawberry, honeydew rind, and then it follows with slight grass and cannabis. It's a real trip.
Feel is juicy and acidic, with a smoothness (though I wouldn't call it creamy) all the way through. Some resins building on the palate the more it is sipped. Some nice alcohol heat also, but not too much. It is a 6%'er but feels more along the 7% range for the IPAs I've had.
Overall, another incredible beer from Singlecut. They've been doing quite a bit better here than what I had a couple years ago from them. If I could change one thing I'd sweeten it up just a tad, but it's not far from being a nearly perfect 6% juice bomb.
Would definitely have again.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $5.99. Looks like from the canning date of 148 that this is 8 weeks old. The beer name is a reference to Mick Jagger saying the phrase “Charlie’s good tonight, ain’t he?” during the song Little Queenie on The Rolling Stones' live album “Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out”.
Look: Quite hazy. Deep yellow and cloudy, looks a bit like unfiltered pineapple juice. Barely there white head clinging to the edge of the glass.
Smell: Very nice aroma. The first note that I got was like a cool minty-ness, very interesting. Then I got pine, soft guava, and a nice coconut finish...I wonder if this has Sabro hops? Perhaps some dry pineapple aroma too, but that also might be subliminal from the fact that this beer looks like pineapple juice. This has a kind of tropical dank juice nose.
Taste: Interesting. The first sip initially seemed a bit tame. But I quickly got a nice progression of flavors through the palate. Very pleasant bitter finish and dryness along with the crisp carbonation make you want to keep going back for more sips. I get a bit of tang and juiciness at the end, which is not sweet at all, really nice how it works in combination with the bitter hoppiness. Hard to describe, this is different from a lot of the other NEIPAs that I have had and I really like it. I feel like I could drink a lot of these in one setting.
Feel: Soft and creamy, yet finishes crisp. Effervescent carbonation. Well done.
Overall: Excellent, very well made and delicious. I've had a few other SingleCut beers; I think that this is my most favorite one so far. I liked 18-Watt quite a bit and Weird & Gilly was above average. I like that this one is in between those two beers in ABV and really brings an intense flavor profile that also isn't too bittering to destroy your palate. I'm looking forward to trying Kim next.

A thanks to the incredible woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a very hazy, bright yellow color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of citrus, tropical fruits. Taste is oranges, pineapple, mild bitterness. Fees medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.
