Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with one and a half finger head, decent retention and tons of lacing.

Aroma is about equal parts citrus, stone fruit, and pine. Of those it's orange, apricot, and an earthy pine.

Taste follows the nose, big orange and grapefruit, some peach and grapefruit, little resinous pine. Little caramel malt sweetness up front giving way to a bold but not overpowering piney grapefruit bitterness.

Medium to full bodied, sticky, low to moderate carbonation, drying.

This is a decent and tasty IPA. I wouldn't turn one down but I don't think I'd actively seek it out compared to other options. Carbonation is a little low for my tastes. It's a fairly safe IPA, nothing remarkable about it but you can always drink it.

This is consistently one of the best IIPAs I've had. Whether out of a bottle of on draft it's flavor and aroma character is the same. FULL orange & papaya / mild pineapple with dankness and a small whiff of the sweet malt aroma-wise. Totally distinctive. Flavor is in keeping with that, very smooth and nary any hint of the 8.2%, dangerously so. I look forward to this beer every time I can get it and fortunately I don't need to spend a day standing in a line to get it.

Wow I almost don't know what it's like to get a iipa that I can see through. Smell is a pleasant one more of pineapple, mango than of orange or grapefruit. Taste is the thing Singlecut really makes a good tasting beer. Feel doesn't live up to the taste although I feel I may be influenced by the milkshake feel of Treehouse and Trillium. This is a really good beer that I would love to find in four packs as opposed to the SINGLE bottle.

Nice looking Dbl IPA here. Nice white head from a fairly aggressive pour. Loving the smell. Over ripe peaches, pineapple juice, slight citrus malt way in the back. Now for the flavor...man, these Singlecut guys can really brew an ale ! I'm calling it grapefruity and slightly piney. Hides the alcohol really well with slight bitterness on the backend. Nose definitely has more depth than the flavor but decent none the less. Smooth mouth coating feel with ample carbonation. Nice balance with this beer. Pretty darn good ! I would love a few of these big boys ! Edit...after having more I'm tasting more depth in the flavor with some of that pineapple sweetness coming through...upping my taste from 4.25 to 4.5.

Palate Contaminants: other beer

The appearance is a nice medium-dark amber. Not a whole lot of head, but good lacing.

The smell is very ripe peach. There's a little malt, but a lot more sweet, acidic fruit like pineapple. Melon rinds, as well.

The taste doesn't have nearly the fruit that the nose has. There may be dried papaya and dried orange, but nuts take over. Oily hazelnut is the main one I get, then muted pine nuts are also there. I guess the peach flavor does poke back through every once in a while, but the earthen flavors are right there with it. It's a little sweet, a little savory, and a little bitter, but it's all well integrated.

The feel is really smooth, and the earthen flavors stick around in the aftertaste.
