Formerly Billy 18-Watt IPA
THE REDEFINITION OF THE SESSION IPA. Orange zest, pine resin and tropical lupulin beauty that easily rivals much bigger IPAs, with a substantially full, soft malt body that compliments but doesn’t interfere with the hop attack. When you want the push, weight, and attack of a much heavier (I)IPA but need to be productive tomorrow – One of our proudest accomplishments.

The beer comes in a slightly hazy golden color, not much head.
The aroma offers grapefruit, sweet citrus, peach, mango, with an intense woody, herbaceous dankness.
The flavor follows with grapefruit through, citrus peel, a medium minus breadiness in the middle, onto a drying note of herbaceous, leaning towards earthiness. Bitterness is somewhat restrained. The mouthfeel is medium and substantial for a "session" IPA.
Singlecut continues to improve and impress with their hoppy offerings.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden-yellow color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time and leaving a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a grapefruit aroma mixed with a bit of orange and caramel. Along with these smells comes a touch of an herbal smell and a hint of lemon.
Taste – The taste starts out with a nice cracker and grainy malt flavor paired with a strong showing of grapefruit. There is a touch of orange sweetness as well as a hint of stone fruits. As the taste advances, the grapefruit gets stronger all while the maltiness fades a tad. With the transitions that occur, one is left with a rather lighter bodied and grapefruit hopped up taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is Light to medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is high and effervescent. For the flavors, abv, and style the feel is great making for a nice easy drinker.
Overall – A nice hopped-up pale/IPA with a very easy drinking nature and great flavor. A good summer time brew for sure.

This IPA poured a dingy, cloudy straw color that I did not find attractive. The head was decent and persistent.
The aroma was bright and piney, with lemon and grapefruit, and a heady floral note at one point.
The flavor was bright with pine and lemon at first, which was quite appealing, and there was also a brief note of alcohol sweetness. Unfortunately, these flavors quickly gave way to an earthy, pithy bitterness. There was no apparent malt contribution to the flavor, which seems typical for this style. Highly carbonated at 5% abv, the mouthfeel was light
and pillowy. The aftertaste was dry and slightly bitter with notes of pine and lemon that quickly faded.
I normally avoid session beers, but this 5% borderline beer was highly rated on BA, so I decided to give it a try. I was disappointed. I'm not a fan of drinking bitter, pithy hop water no matter how appealing the aroma and bright hop taste.

Purchased a 16 Oz 4 pack ($13.00) at Wegman's in State College
LOOK: Pours a very hazy gold with some orange hues, along with an all white head that has above average retention while leaving an abundance of Side glass lace.
AROMA: Dank grapefruit and pineapple, orange peel and hint of mango.
TASTE: Citrus hops are at most moderate, nothing here says wow. More sour than bitter.
Thin mouthfeel, especially for the style.
When beers are this pricy, I expect a lot more than what was delivered here.

16oz can stamped 11/17/22 into a pint glass.
L: Pours hazed med-gold w a darker center, a thin rounded off-white head, VG retention to skin and thick edge foam, good sticky lacing.
S: Vinous hops, caramelized malts, lightly dank from a distance, melon, citrus zest, a hint of hard candy.
T: Bready, wheat, yeast, lemon/lime hops, zesty, well balanced, lemon cake linger. Full flavored, lightly bitter.
F: Crisp, light pillowy body w a mellow middle and a fairly dry finish. A surprisingly crushable feel.
O: First, nowhere on the label of the can I bought do the words "Session Ale" appear nor was it advertised as such. This is a bang-on great American IPA for being 5% ABV. Big taste and full flavor don't necessarily need higher ABV% and this beer is living, bubbling proof of it. Big feel & light bodied. Absolutely refreshing and it is outstanding in its style.

An average session IPA! The brewery is from my home town, Astoria NY. Poured fom a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer is a hazy gold color with a medium sized foamy white head. Good head retention and pretty good lacing on the glass. Taste and aroma include some light tropical fruit flavors and some bready malt with light bitterness. This beer is pleasant enough but nothing really stands out. I have had many session IPA's with strong flavoring, this isn't one of them. Mouthfeel is crisp and light, goes down easy. Not bad, but there would be better choices for a session.

Pale hazy yellow appearance with a finger of loose white head and spotty lacing. Citrus, bitter, pine notes. Medium to light body, moderate carbonation. Great session.

Pours a hazy orange. Thin foam. Sweet aroma. Mild fruit body. Light orange. A piney mild bitter finish. Very smooth. No frills just consistently good.
