Notes: Formerly Billy 18-Watt IPA

THE REDEFINITION OF THE SESSION IPA. Orange zest, pine resin and tropical lupulin beauty that easily rivals much bigger IPAs, with a substantially full, soft malt body that compliments but doesn’t interfere with the hop attack. When you want the push, weight, and attack of a much heavier (I)IPA but need to be productive tomorrow – One of our proudest accomplishments.

The beer comes in a slightly hazy golden color, not much head.

The aroma offers grapefruit, sweet citrus, peach, mango, with an intense woody, herbaceous dankness.

The flavor follows with grapefruit through, citrus peel, a medium minus breadiness in the middle, onto a drying note of herbaceous, leaning towards earthiness. Bitterness is somewhat restrained. The mouthfeel is medium and substantial for a "session" IPA.

Singlecut continues to improve and impress with their hoppy offerings.

Possibly the first session IPA I've had that I drank all night and enjoyed to the end. Great pine/citrus (floral-orange-grapefruit) aroma with a undercurrent of dankness that seems to be the Singlecut hallmark. Flavor was similar with a mild malt sweetness (just right). Plenty of body for a session IPA. Definitely one of the standout breweries in the NYC scene.

1/2 growler filled at the brewery, pre Mets game two days ago.

Pours clouded medium amber, under a lasting well developed cap, leaves a thicker film , and ample sheeting.
Citric nose with soft grapefruit notes.

Pleasing hopped up and fresh tasting, with more grapefruit coming to mind.

Smooth and appropriately carbonated to my thinking.

Nice smooth and flavorful finish with more grapefruit hop notes.

Far better then average IPA and well worth seeking out.

A grapefruit explosion - and not in a good way. Overwhelming grapefruit flavor prevents other flavor nuances from being recognized. Very bright yellow and cloudy - was hoping for a NE IPA experience but got nothing of the sort.

On tap at the Beef & Brew in Geneva, NY. One of the best sessionable IPAs I've had. Light malt and very hop forward. Hop presence is much more tropical than bitter. This beer is exactly what I like in an IPA

Fantastic stuff! Poured from a 16-ounce can into a TeKu. Opaque yellow colored body, with an evanescent head that disappears within seconds. Even so, the appearance is quite appealing, (think pineapple juice). Huge aromas and flavors of orange, tropical fruit, citrus zest, and pine resin. Silky smooth mouthfeel, lots of bitterness, and a luscious citrus note lingering on the finish. The malt character is light, allowing the hops to predominate on the aroma and flavor profiles. This is everything I like in an IPA. Well done, SingleCut!

On tap at the Red Dove Tavern In Geneva. Cloudy and golden in the glass with minimal head-retention and not much in the way of lacing. Like all of SingleCut's iPA's, the best way to start of a taste description is dank. Lots of grapefruit with that dank earthiness to back it up. Some sweet caramel malts, but nothing prominent; pretty dry as a whole. I had no idea that this is basically a session IPA. I'm impressed.

Bottle dated 9/21/2016. Poured into IPA glass. It pours a cloudy, golden apricot color with a thin, milk-white head and lacing. There were numerous floaters in the glass. It smells of both sweet fruit (peach) and citrus (lemon), along with grassy hops. The taste is much more bitter than sweet. It's hop forward, bitter and biting, with some subtle peach or mango and the finish; about the opposite of what I expected from the nose. The aftertaste is decidedly bitter. This ale features lively carbonation and with a sessionable ABV of 5% it is very easy to drink. Overall, if you're looking for a session IPA, then this is one I can recommend.

Not just a solid session IPA- a delicious IPA period. Citrus rind, orange juice, and pine. Very refreshing; crisp without being dry. Would readily drink again.

Poured into a hotel glass. A moderately hazy dark yellow color with a modest white head. Decent retention in the glass. The aroma was fairly strong, with bright tropical fruit, citrus, and grassy notes. The taste followed. There was a nice resin undercurrent throughout, with modest citrus, tropical, and pineapple notes. The beer felt bigger than its ABV with a soft, pillow we feel and medium body. Overall, one of the better session IPAs that I’ve tasted.
