On cask @ The Ginger Man in New York, NY.
I was excited when I saw a local NYC brewery with their English Bitter on cask at The Ginger Man. Poured cloudy and light amber with a small creamy head. Floral and tropical hops make up the aroma. The flavor starts off fine but the mouthfeel is too soft and it completely falls apart in the finish like a NEIPA. Very bitter and drying.
I was really looking forward to an authentic British-style Bitter that you could just drink all night long, Guessing by the ABV (4.8%) and IBU (46) I'm guessing Singlecut was going for a Strong Bitter. Unfortunately, I ended up disappointed when it was more like an IPA that I could barely get through 10 ounces of.

swing by bibbique for some awesome bbq lunch on LI and was pleasantly surprised to find this in nitro...yes please!
poured murky golden yellow w a finger of frothy creamy head that had nice staying power and left sheets of lace. nose is a nice soft citric. taste to match a soft bittery end. feel is creamy and silky as you'd expect in nitro. killer pale that hints at a single ipa.

I've been loving this on SingleCut's nitro tap lately. It's super smooth, of course, with a subtle toasty and nutty malt backbone. Then diverging from EPA norms, there's a burst of creamy lemon and citrus. So yeah, it's an American-ized pale ale with extra hops, but it marries the two substyles beautifully.

On tap at pub. The aroma is SO authentic English Pale Ale (like as in UK English Pale Ale), really spot on. Incredible smoothness with an herbal, floral, sweet earthy and mild citrus hop flavor. Perfectly enjoyable

On nitro at Rattle n Hun, NYC. Loks way better than what's delivered. Substantial head that leads to a coating more than a lacing down the glass. The nose reveals a VERY wheaty taste. I'm not a hops fan but you sure know when they're not there. Not that this is a sweet drink but it sure could use bitterness to create some intrigue.

Had at the brewery. Nitro pour - super creamy! The head was like whipped cream and held throughout with gorgeous lacing. Excellent herbal (almost like green tea) and citrus combination. Malt was present, smooth and light toasty with minimal crystal. About as satisfying an American interpretation of this style as I've had.

On cask at the brewery. They also had it on nitro and regular pour
A: Light amber haze with delicate white head, not too dense - a sign of proper cask conditioning
S: Toffee malt, light whiskey, sweet earthy hops, herbal. Again the word I'd use is delicate
T: Quite possibly the best cask ale I've had outside of the UK. They absolutely nailed the subtle and authentic aspects of a proper English cask ale. CAMRA would be proud
M: Smooth and full
O: One of the best offerings from SingleCut.

Picked up a growler at Hoptron Brewtique in Patchogue.
My first sampling of Singlecut's wares.
Appearance: Poured a hearty foam head in a pint glass. Light lacing.
Smell/Taste: Some caramel from the malts, biscuity- polishing off with non-overpowering hop, exactly what I would want from this style.
Complexity builds as it warms in the glass.
It was exactly the departure I wanted from a winter of heavy-hopping IPAs and APAs.
I would return to Keith on a regular basis, in fact I like it so much, It might delay my ordering of other Singlecut beers- feel like I'm always going to be in the mood for this one.

On draft at Shorty's, NYC.
Poured a murky bronze hue with a wispy white cap. There was little retention and lacing.
The smell featured a light grassy hop and round malt.
The taste was well balanced with a lingering grassiness.
The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style with a dry finish.
Overall a nice pale ale. Easy enough to drink.

On tap at the brewery. I went with the traditional English pint at 50 degrees.
A - Light amber pour with a heart beige foam that retains well. Slight carbonation noted.
S - Smells of pale malts, and has a floral scent to it. there is a mild hop bitterness that lingers.
T - Really glad I went for the warmer pour. This has a dry taste with a slight sweetness of honey. A moderate amount of bitterness finishes this off. Really comes off as a tasty beer.
M - Very smooth with great balance. This is a beer you could sit back and have a few watching the folks in Astoria go about hteir business. Light feel and a dry finsih.
O - First try at a Singlecut beer and I was pretty impressed. I'd try more if they are like htis one.
