12 oz can, no bottling date but it just came out so should be very fresh. Poured into Speigelau IPA glass.

Golden amber body with perfect clarity, a nice fluffy pure white head, good retention and lacing. Smell is fruity with mango and pineapple at the forefront, some pine notes as well, citrus flavors and fresh squeezed orange. Taste is more pine than the nose is, the tropical fruit flavors are present similar to the smell, a good level of bitterness balances it out. The beer is crisp, smooth, medium bodied, and dry. Overall a delicious and balanced IPA. I haven't had much experience with El Dorado hops before, but based on what I just tasted I need to be trying more. Great stuff.

Tea, Bark, Spicy, Grassy

Heavily laced with El Dorado hops ... yeah, we get to know this hop real well sip to sip. This IPA does not walk the same path as others but still speaks the same language. Spicy woody overtones are unique, bitterness grasps the palate strong. Even enough to flaunt the malt foundation and light enough to make the alcohol somewhat noticeable. An IPA to seek out.

12oz Can

Wil, again, handed me a couple of these the other day because he's a generous dude. Thanks, generous dude! An overenthusiastic pour on my part added a lot of haze to the apricot orange body making it quite muddy. A fingers worth of pure white foam sits atop the surface like whipped cream with no inclination of disappearing. The lace is soft and wants to coat every inch of glass.

El Dorado is an interesting hop, in my opinion. Of the few beers I've had that use El Dorado I've always gotten soft, buttery banana as a component. Herbal qualities are present with a hard to identify but enjoyable citrus kick. If I was forced to pick out specific citrus qualities they would lean mostly toward orange, pineapple, and under ripe mango. The banana quality faintly reminds me of banana Now n' Laters. All of that sits atop a caramel and graham crackery malt base.

The flavor profile is more expressive than the nose. Citrus is more in the forefront with orange and pineapple leaving fingerprints. Pale, sugar cookie malt runs middle to end with a drizzle of caramel. Herbal happiness, bordering on earthy, pack a little punch mid-palate. The finish is orange jammy and resinous making for a very unique hop profile. This IPA really grows on me as I drink.

The body weighs in at medium with coronation that adds a velvety feel. This beer flows like silk. Bitterness doesn't seem like much upfront but with each successive drink grows, eventually becoming assertive and jowl numbing. Dryness hits quickly on the swallow accentuating that bitterness.

Again, El Dorado is a very unique hop. It's very different from the more common varietals with citrus, herbal, and banana notes, though mild banana. The malt base is pale and allows the hop profile to shine, Drinkability is high. The cans can be enjoyed on the go. Spiteful does it right yet again.

Pours a deep and slightly rusty gold with subtle orange hues and a finger of off-white foam.

Grassy and slightly pine resin character, juicy orange and lemony citrus fruit, and a nice slightly toasty and slightly sweet caramel malt backbone.

Orange, grapefruit, and lemony citrus fruit notes with a good amount of resin, pine, and grass, encompassed in a solid caramel malt sweetness.

Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, prickly carbonation, and perfect bitter bite.

Overall, a solid go-to IPA from Spiteful here.

Hazy orange, plentiful foam, seafoam lacing in the glass. Lasting surface coverage.

Pungent hoppy aroma, leafy greens, citrusy orange and tangerine with a pleasant light undercurrent of pale malt sweetness.

Bitter orange peel, light pale malt sweetness, tangerine pulp. Dry aftertaste, lingering light bitterness and pale malt flavors. Very clean and sessionable. Go-to beer for sure.
