Appearance: Head of a finger on the pour and settled to the thin top layer while drinking. Orange, with accents of red and brown. Above average active carbonation while drinking. Sticky random lacing left behind.

Smell: grapefruit and airy, refreshing tones of prairie grass hit first. Earthy tones on the body with a nice spiced backbone. Piney bitterness which picks up on the body, peaks quickly, then nicely dissolves into the background.

Taste: The front is pleasant tones of lemons, prairie grass, and pine. Balanced body of tropical fruits and a slight lingering bitterness. Earthy malt backbone gives this brew a great foundation to stand on. The finish is light, easy fruits which dance on the palate long after drinking.

Mouthfeel: Dangerously drinkable. The easy fruit and citrus finish keeps you picking up the glass a little too quickly after putting it down. Carbonation is done perfectly.

Overall: Man they don't pump them out like Pipeworks, but when Spiteful does an IPA it is something to seek out. If mosaic hops are the only hop here as the bottle seems to suggest then I had no idea that they had this level of complexity. Great balanced of fruit, citrus, pine, and earthiness. Bravo Spiteful!

Batch 103
Golden honeyed pour with clarity. Generous hopped up off-white head. Lacing decent.

Aromas of tangerine skin and grapefruit cocktail juice. Sweetened malty Sugar Smack cereal. Classic piney scents. Really a treat to savor. Wait long enough and grain alcohol will emerge.

A nice flowing craft. Malt sweetness envelops, maybe a tad heavy, followed by hop tingling on the tongue. Citrus lingers well with scant pine tars. Again, wait long enough and the alcohol is evident through the nose, maybe heaviest of most Imperials I've had lately.

Creamy mouthfeel and it wraps up nicely with a drying sensation. Bitterness lingers well and is truly a fine sipper.

Seductive Double right here. Nice local stuff for me to choose from. An Imperial that is a great contender of many and not to be missed. I just love this freakin' stuff.

Decent IPA, hopped up and even a bit complex. Just not the most drinkable, but a good siipper. Boozy finish. Needs more malt backing. Bottle from Binnys.

Draft serving in a goblet, two in a row, 12 ounces each.

Lightly hazed saturated orange, with a compact layer of foam on the surface. Some delicate lace around the edges, lasting coverage for the first few sips.

Very pungent aroma, papaya, mango, and passionfruit from the Mosaic. Intense and dripping with layers of exotic fruit.

Taste follows suit, though more bitter and citrus forward, passionfruit and bitter grapefruit. Light feeling, though it has a sturdy backbone that carries it along well. Lingering bitter fruit in the aftertaste. Reminiscent of some of Half Acre and Pipeworks' better DIPA's, which this surely stands toe-to-toe with. Possibly Spiteful's best DIPA so far.

Pours a reddish gold with a small white head, and nice lacing. Smell was very pungent led bymelon, grapefruit, pine and powdered sugar. Taste was similar, with melon, citrus, grapefruit, pine bitterness and some sugary sweetness. Pretty light in the mouth, but with lingering bitter. This is a bit sweeter than I prefer, but this is solid and has a lot going on.
