(3/4) Easily the worst. Appearance is like the others, brownish black with a thin tan ring. Smell has the peanut butter but it is not too strong, roasted malt, now smoke instead of dark chocolate, and earth. Taste starts really pleasant, like a dark chocolate peanut butter cup with some smoky earth, but then it all turns to ash and so much metal, yuck. If I could just hold onto the front of the taste, a glimpse of paradise before the realities of the beer come crashing down upon it. Feel is still thin, heavily roasted, and earthy/smoky.

Pours a dark black color, shiny, pitch black. Thin weak tan head dissipates quickly leaving a thin layer of spotty foam on top of the beer.

Aroma has notes of roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, peanuts, and some earthy hops.

Taste has notes of roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, roasted nuts and peanuts. Some bittering hops on the back end.The "peanut butter" notes are super subdued.

Feel is light, drinkable and smooth for a porter. Spritzy carbonation.

Overall a fine beer, that really doesn't showcase the peanut butter all that much.

3/18/19 (Chicago): $6.27 w/ tax (bought as four pack variety from Vas Formost 12/3) canned 11/6/18 poured into snifter. Black pour, creamy tan head leaves light bubbly lacing upon dissipation. Peanut butter aroma predominant, backed by malt. Taste mirrors aroma, peanut butter rich and creamy, well backed by malt and chocolate. Texture light, carbonation holds well, easy drinking, a little chalky mouth feel. Overall very good pour.

Nothing too special going on with this one. Fleeting glimpses of peanut butter and coffee on my palate.

From a bottle, pours a dark brown, almost opaque color with ruby hues and a wispy brown head.

The nose is all peanut butter. It is not as pronounced as other beers that attempt this gimmick style, but its obvious for sure. Beyond the peanut shells, you also get chocolate, roasted oats, and a little dark fruit. The flavor is mostly chocolate, peanut butter, a little vanilla.

This is pretty good. I can't fault them for doing exactly what they intend to do. It's a peanut butter porter for sure.
