The epitome of a beer that's great upon the initial pop-of-a-top but slowly descends into a beer that's very difficult to drink. These are flavors that could potentially be good in beer, but after a while, the carbonated mouthfeel and the smoky, nutty aftertaste become almost ghastly. I can admire the ambition but I can't do much beside wince as I try to down the remainder of this bottle.

22oz bottle
Served in a nonic pint

Pours black. Two inches of tan head that sticks around leaving a little lacing.

Raspberry smell. A little peanut butter

Raspberry dominates taste. Nutty flavor more like whole peanuts rather than peanut butter

Full, very carbonated mouthfeel

It was more raspberry and less peanut butter than I would have preffed, but good.

22oz bomber shared with Eric poured into a baby OIB snifter. Big Welches grape jelly aroma. Lighter bodied than expected for 8.2%, pretty dry finish. Tart raspberry flavor, not detecting any peanut butter flavor nor very much maltiness going on. Overall it's a nice beer, would drink again.

My favorite of the gd pigeon porter variations so far. Peanutty aroma, but tasted sour from the dried raspberries. Really playful, exceptionally delicious.

Thanks to rudzud for sharing this beast.

Pours a decent fizzy head mocha colored, hits 1 head and fades at a med pace, very dark brown color some light coming though.

Nose brings tons of raspberry jelly, nice Peanutbutter, nice grainy whole grain bread like, a nice jammy fruit, and a straight up pb&j sandwich. Little cocoa note, etc.

Taste brings more peanut butter out front, with tons more jammy raspberry fruit, sticky syrupy jammy fruit, bready grainy bread, chewy malts, little sweet note, mild choc creamy. Finish is sticky sweet, long jammy raspberry fruit, little Peanutbutter note, again Peanutbutter and jelly sandwich, great version too.

Mouth is med bod, little fuller and slight syrupy, lighter but decent carb, booze hidden well.

Overall quite nice, great jammy raspberry fruit Peanutbutter and bready for a well done pb&j with little chocolate. Very enjoyable but would have barren nicer with more have malts or body.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark black hue with a good mocha one finger head that fades to leave thin wisps and light lacing.

S - Aromas of nice chocolate, good peanut butter, bright raspberry jelly notes, Really really good rich peanut butter and jelly notes. Great chocolate, jelly really pops as it warms. Great.

T - Taste is loads of raspberry jelly, crazy amount. Almost too sweet. Good peanut butter notes, rich and creamy, almost chocolate truffle like. Alcohol is hidden nicely, just awesome. Rich rich jelly.

M - Mouthfeel is nice, a little thin, alcohol is hidden very well though.

O - Overall this beer was really good. Love the raspberry notes, delicious.

Pours a dark mahogany brown, creamy tan foam that sticks around for a few minutes.
Arcs of irregular lacing, begins to form a collar around the edges after the second pour, and also demonstrates some pretty decent lasting retention later on.

Dominating peanut butter aroma, which is nice, because it delivers what it says on the label. Hint of fruity raspberry jam around the edges, but it's subtle and only appears as it warms up.

Nice blend of peanut butter and raspberry in the taste, really cohesive like a PB&J. The raspberry brings a slight tartness which is to be expected, though the body is ever so slightly thin as a result. Still no complaints. Very tasty and a nice blend. I'll pick this up again if it's still around in a week (doubt it).
